Hi guys, I have contracted HSV 2 about one month ago from my test. I wanted to know the ways this virus is being transmitted to others excluding sex and what are the areas that could be affected by it other then the genital areas, mouth and eyes(if im not wrong). Please do shed some knowledge to me here so that I could prevent from spreading it to my family members and friends, really do appreciate the help and thanks!

Skin to skin contact only. Wash your hands after wiping, or touching sores. You can spread it to other parts of your body if you touch a sore with your hands then touch your eyes so always wash your hands. I put coconut oil down there daily as it kills the virus.

What kind of test did you have? If it was a blood test then you may not know exactly where you have it, but since hsv2 oral is rare I am going to assume you have it genital.

Genital herpes resides in your sacral ganglia nerve system. If you were to look that up, you would see that it starts at the base of your spine and goes down your legs. That is the only place you can spread it from so kissing, hugging, touching will not spread the virus. Also, the ONLY way to transmit this virus is from skin to skin contact, so don't worry about toilet seats or towels.

Even if you have sex with someone it doesn't mean you will automatically pass it to them. I have had this virus many years and have been with several women and never passed it and almost all of the sex has been unprotected (their choice). I know married people who have been married decades and never passed it. Here is a link to an infographic that talks about transmission rates. Read it and you will see it really isn't that easy to spread:

Did your test have a number? If so, was that number below 3.5? If so, you may have had a false positive test result. Here is a link to another article that talks about false positive tests:

Even if you do have hsv2 genital you can live a normal life. I have been on this website daily for over 6 years and have chatted with thousands of Herpsters and many have told me that getting genital herpes changed their lives for the better.

Good luck!

Hey JB, thanks for all the information. It's really great to hear this from someone who is undergoing the same as I am and I hope that people could be more open about it and not judge without knowing the story of others. I do really appreciate the articles you linked and yes I actually had a number of 1.1x which is after 4 month of exposure. Do you think I should get another test at 6 month of exposure to test out if its false negative cause my doctor said that it could be due to the sensitivity of the medical tools used. Appreciate it and thanks!

Thanks Wilson, and is there any thread on what types of food or supplements I should take in order to reduce the OB in case I did have one since I had not have any OBs from my exposure date till now.

If you can afford it order the Western Blot blood test then get that. It is the gold standad of hsv blood tests and is the most accurate. Although another IgG blood test at 6 months should be accurate as well.

Good luck!

JB

There are no foods that directly link to a herpes outbreak. However the healthier you eat the healthier you and your immune system are. This means fewer outbreaks. Stress is by far the key contributor to outbreaks.

Just another set of supporting articles to a potential release date in 2024 giving hope to sufferers whom the standard of care is currently worthless: Promising Progress in clinical trials for Pritelivir (herpescureadvocacy.com) HSV Treatment Readies for Approval — Precision Vaccinations News

I have not found a cheaper source for Amenalief, and I've searched high and low. I have a thread called "Pritelivir at Last" you may want to follow as I have a strong belief that It may be available to the public in the summer of 2024 and as I find new info, I update the thread immediately. Now, may I suggest a combination of drugs that several others on this forum have found to be very effective over acyclovir alone? Myself and others have found that taking 40mg of omeprazole (Tagamet @dissolvedo2 ) with 1 gram of Valacyclovir in the morning and 1 gram of Valacyclovir in the evening alone for 3 days have had profound effectiveness at stopping outbreaks in their tracks. I'd like to remind you that I am not a doctor and at best I am personal researcher for what works for me. I @lw@ys share my findings with the forum in the hopes to help others alleviate their suffering. There is another drug combo that I have tried myself as well as others on this forum have tried and that I personally feel is a much more effective for myself. This combo is 1 gram of activated charcoal with 1-gram of valacyclovir in the morning followed by 1 gram of valacyclovir in the evening alone, again for 3 days. I have found that this has reduced my outbreaks to almost only once a year and they are mild at worse. Again, just a reminder that this works for me and may not work for you but I always feel that i have to share this with anyone that cannot get this virus under control so I hope my findings can help those of you who cannot achieve relief with the standard treatment alone. The stronger anti-virals come with risks and if I can help anyone avoid those risks then by all means I feel I have done some good in this world. I only ask that you let me know if either of these suggestions work for you so that I can document it in my notes. Good luck my friend!

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti
