What are the odds huh? It's like striking a lottery. Only difference is when you win a lottery you get paid to buy Hermes, when you strike herpes, you pay for Health.

Oh! 8 days on antiviral I'm still having genital outbreak. I infact had a severe infection which caused ulceration almost my entire Labia minora with pus and blood. People please get anti inflammatory drugs for this. My Gynae was useless and didnt even pick this up till I seeked second opinion.

Who ever who striked both HSV and needs support, feel free to leave a message. Remember you are not and will never be alone

I too have hsv1 and hsv2 for many years and have lived a great life. The good news for you is that it does get better with time. This first outbreak will be the worst one. If you have any subsequent outbreaks they won't hurt as much and won't last as long.

I hope you heal quickly!

Try sitting in the tub with about 2 cups of Epsom salt and about 10 drops of essential oil of lavender For about 30 minites. It will help heal it and help with the pain.

Always keep dry. Cornstarch powder helps. Absorbs moisture. If not too painful, bathing the area more often than usual each day helps keep it dry. Sleep with no underwear.

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Over time you'll learn the best ways to manage it and make your life easier. Many more online groups now, and local groups and events than there were when I hopped on board a couple of decades+ ago. Lots of people now to help.

Take care :byeheart:

Go get some St. John's wort from Gaia Herbs.

It will save your life

I'm so disappointed that I can't seem to tolerate St. John's Wort  Have been wanting to take it for a long time to help with moods. When I started it recently, I had almost worked my way up to the suggested dosage after a few weeks, but was feeling so weird I had to stop. It wasn't exactly pain or sickness, just weird and uncomfortable. Felt that if I kept taking it the feeling would get worse.

Yeah, herbs are funny. I feel like there are some one doesn't take indefinitely. My take is that little and often make much.

I am/was taking 1 a day. My outbreaks/prodrome, skin eroding went away.

I've experimented w SJW as a homeopathic remedy. I'm not entirely sure how homeopathics are dosed. But it did quell prodrome but only for a short time. I felt SJW actually strengthen my body. My skin felt better. It was wild.

Quality can be a thing, too.

As far as homeopathics go, I thought the thuja occidentalis to be really effective. When reading about it, it's used for hsv. The homeopathics advertise for viral warts

Yeah, but some of them have to be taken at the recommended dosages to be effective, unfortunately. Otherwise, it's a waste of money and faith, lol.

Prodrome can't be detected by the person experiencing it. That's how H is often passed on. I guess you may mean outbreaks/itching/tingling, skin eroding went away, maybe? Prodrome happens before any of that.

prodrome is one of those interesting words.

tingling/itching are prodromal to a cold sore

fever, malaise, swollen glands are prodromal to herpes infection

Just another set of supporting articles to a potential release date in 2024 giving hope to sufferers whom the standard of care is currently worthless: Promising Progress in clinical trials for Pritelivir (herpescureadvocacy.com) HSV Treatment Readies for Approval — Precision Vaccinations News

I have not found a cheaper source for Amenalief, and I've searched high and low. I have a thread called "Pritelivir at Last" you may want to follow as I have a strong belief that It may be available to the public in the summer of 2024 and as I find new info, I update the thread immediately. Now, may I suggest a combination of drugs that several others on this forum have found to be very effective over acyclovir alone? Myself and others have found that taking 40mg of omeprazole (Tagamet @dissolvedo2 ) with 1 gram of Valacyclovir in the morning and 1 gram of Valacyclovir in the evening alone for 3 days have had profound effectiveness at stopping outbreaks in their tracks. I'd like to remind you that I am not a doctor and at best I am personal researcher for what works for me. I @lw@ys share my findings with the forum in the hopes to help others alleviate their suffering. There is another drug combo that I have tried myself as well as others on this forum have tried and that I personally feel is a much more effective for myself. This combo is 1 gram of activated charcoal with 1-gram of valacyclovir in the morning followed by 1 gram of valacyclovir in the evening alone, again for 3 days. I have found that this has reduced my outbreaks to almost only once a year and they are mild at worse. Again, just a reminder that this works for me and may not work for you but I always feel that i have to share this with anyone that cannot get this virus under control so I hope my findings can help those of you who cannot achieve relief with the standard treatment alone. The stronger anti-virals come with risks and if I can help anyone avoid those risks then by all means I feel I have done some good in this world. I only ask that you let me know if either of these suggestions work for you so that I can document it in my notes. Good luck my friend!

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti
