Help!! The sore is so painful when urinating! Does anyone have any natural remedies for the sore that makes it go away quickly? On the genitals btw...

Some diaper rash creams may help, like Desitin ointment. Also, when going to use the bathroom, wet a wash cloth with warm water and quickly dab the urine off after urinating. So sorry for your pain

The only thing that helped me was flooding with water. I used one of those disposable douche bottles rinsed out filled with warm water and just squeezed it all out while i was urinating. i refilled if necessary. I thought i was going to get a UTI from avoiding going to the bathroom it hurt so much to pee. Or if you fill the tub that works also. kinda gross but if it worked, i didnt care. I also used Aquaphor, similar to desitin, to coat the sore. Not as harsh as petroleum jelly but the same concept. I hope it starts feeling better soon.

Great idea about the douche bottle! Much more effective than a warm wash cloth, which is really after the fact. And YES about the tub. Who cares if it's gross if it stops that awful pain :gigglegiggle: . Not like you'd be never emptying it but getting back in throughout the day :harharhar:.

(these ideas are more for pain relief than sore healing)

One thing I found that worked (to prevent urine from getting onto external sores) was taking the plastic tube part of a tampon applicator and placing it so that the stream of urine goes through the tube and out without touching anywhere else. Unfortunately for me I had internal sores as well so that method wasn't perfect, but it stopped some of the pain at least!

I also found that applying vaseline to the sores makes urine bounce off it rather than penetrate the sores.

There's also lidocaine which numbs the skin, and could be useful if you apply it 5mins before peeing.

These are things I've tried, I just finished my first OB and hope I don't have another for a long time!

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
