what to ask doctor

Hello, I have been scoring the web for two days ever since I heard I was positive..by blood with no symptoms. I was told to call if I had a breakout, that's it. What I have read has told me, I should not just leave it at that.

So, I am double checking before I call the doctor tomorrow. This is what I plan on asking, please tell me if there is anything I have missed..

1-what type of blood test? IGG or IGM

2-which type of test?

3-what are my level?

If it is in the gray range, 0,9 and 3,5, request new test by different company??

That about cover it??

Thank you

For (2) ask the manufacturer of the test, such as Herpselect. (3) Ask for the exact numeric results. Then add (4) What is the cutoff for positive.

From there you can decide if a retest is necessary. For example you are negative on IgG then you're probably clear of the virus.

OK, let's be clear, have you got two results for IgG HSV-1 and IgG HSV-2 and what were they. Or was it a combined test for HSV-1/2?

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
