Came back negative

I got a swab test when I was very irritated and had a few bumps down there. I went the morning after I noticed them RIGHT AWAY. I also had a fever maybe a week prior to what I thought was an outbreak, but 4 of my friends also did around the same time. I did not experience any pain when peeing and the bumps weren't painful, but my vagina was very irritated, inflamed and itchy. I called the clinic today and was informed that the swab test came back negative. I was told not to worry. What do you think?! I've been convinced the past 4 weeks that I had herpes and now I'm not sure. I'm going to go get tested for other STD's but should I stop worrying about having herpes? I've been so upset the past 4 weeks.

OK let's go back to the beginning. When did this all start, how long before had you had sex? Was a swab taken the first time?

I had sex maybe 5 weeks ago and my vagina was irritated right after we finished. Then I developed the bumps maybe 1 week later and went to get them swabbed the morning after.

They still could be any number of things. A blood test is required at 12 weeks post the last sexual contact of concern to confirm whether you do or do not have herpes. The negative swab is clearly an indicator that there may not be herpes but it isn't fully reliable when negative.

I'm really confused now...I looked at my vagina to make sure everything was okay and now I see one light beige coloured bump?!!? Could this be another outbreak? This is all so confusing :(

I also found that the bumps that were, what I thought was herpes, from around 4 weeks ago, instead of crusting and falling off they just seemed to sort of fade. Like I can still sort of see them, and also I have a decent amount of white stuff in my vagina. I will definitely go back to the doctor to get checked out. Do you have any other ideas what this could be?!

are you using any new soaps or detergents? anything that could give you an allergic reaction?

does the white stuff smell? maybe that's from B.V. or a yeast infection?

Agreeing with November, bacterial vaginosis has a lot of discharge. And it's not a sexually transmitted condition either. But also yeast can look similar. My dr said to use the medicated douche for my bv during an outbreak. Did that ever hurt! But after a week he rx some vaginal Creme. I am still kinda fighting the bv. Not sure what to say about the bumps. but my lesions never crusted or scabbed over in my vagine area. Which I think is how it goes on mucous membrane areas.

Just another set of supporting articles to a potential release date in 2024 giving hope to sufferers whom the standard of care is currently worthless: Promising Progress in clinical trials for Pritelivir (herpescureadvocacy.com) HSV Treatment Readies for Approval — Precision Vaccinations News

I have not found a cheaper source for Amenalief, and I've searched high and low. I have a thread called "Pritelivir at Last" you may want to follow as I have a strong belief that It may be available to the public in the summer of 2024 and as I find new info, I update the thread immediately. Now, may I suggest a combination of drugs that several others on this forum have found to be very effective over acyclovir alone? Myself and others have found that taking 40mg of omeprazole (Tagamet @dissolvedo2 ) with 1 gram of Valacyclovir in the morning and 1 gram of Valacyclovir in the evening alone for 3 days have had profound effectiveness at stopping outbreaks in their tracks. I'd like to remind you that I am not a doctor and at best I am personal researcher for what works for me. I @lw@ys share my findings with the forum in the hopes to help others alleviate their suffering. There is another drug combo that I have tried myself as well as others on this forum have tried and that I personally feel is a much more effective for myself. This combo is 1 gram of activated charcoal with 1-gram of valacyclovir in the morning followed by 1 gram of valacyclovir in the evening alone, again for 3 days. I have found that this has reduced my outbreaks to almost only once a year and they are mild at worse. Again, just a reminder that this works for me and may not work for you but I always feel that i have to share this with anyone that cannot get this virus under control so I hope my findings can help those of you who cannot achieve relief with the standard treatment alone. The stronger anti-virals come with risks and if I can help anyone avoid those risks then by all means I feel I have done some good in this world. I only ask that you let me know if either of these suggestions work for you so that I can document it in my notes. Good luck my friend!

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti
