Swollen lymph nodes can be an indicator that your immune system is actively trying to fight this virus and possibly a sign that a cold sore is about to pop up. The most common prodrome symptoms are tingling and itchiness, do you have these as well?

Once your infection is established the lymphatic system rarely reactivates in a severe way to fight the virus. You are most probably reacting to another virus or bacterial infection.

There are herbs that help improve lymph flow. Echinacea, goldenseal, wort garlic...

Self heal (prunella vulgaris) does this too and targets the throat upper area. Very anti hsv. I'd get the tincture form of it....

But St. John's wort is a miracle herb. Just take 1 pill a day for several days or use it when prodrome occurs.

Oh and movement and gentle range of motion stretching improves lymph flow

  • 1 month later...

I have had persistent swollen lymph nodes, which occasionally ache, around my neck and jaw ever since catching HSV2 over a year ago. I know it doesn't make logical sense, but the virus played havoc with my whole body. I know of OBs in three places.. I've heard that after a bad infection sometimes the lymph nodes will never return to their original size. I had a CT scan which supposedly ruled out lymphoma and multiple HIV tests, I must trust the doctor's opinion on this (they don't know, but don't think its anything more sinister). Anyone have any thoughts?

I'm afraid to say that it makes no logical sense because it can't.

Your doctor says this is herpes? That's a serious issue and you need a new doctor immediately. I hope you weren't diagnosed by this joker in the first place... I'm almost too scared to ask, but he didn't just look and say 'Yes that's herpes!', did they?

No, originally I was diagnosed at a GUM clinic walk-in service by swab. Later as I was having strange symptoms, they said it's something for my GP.. so I went to see him and told him about my recent diagnosis. He couldn't identify anything else wrong with me with scans and blood tests though.

Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

In this forum we will discuss does lume work Lume is paraben-free and uses several natural ingredients like Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, tapioca starch, and Maranta arundinacea root powder (also known as arrowroot powder) to control odor and sweat. One of the key Lume deodorant ingredients is mandelic acid, an AHA found in skin care products, which also has an antibacterial effect.

Ibuprofen medicine is a painkiller. Can you take ibuprofen on an empty stomach  Some people take medicine empty stomach which is not good for our health. Because painkiller kind of medicine is very strong and can harm your liver. Medicine makes many strong ingredients. like Lactose, corn starch, hypromellose, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), and carnauba wax.
