Confused about STD Testing!

Hello, so for starters I've been with my mate for a year now. I was tested from both the gyn and my PCP which was in April 2015. I came right back for a follow up from my PCP which she told me I was negative from everything .. But she may detect a yeast. Which didn't worry me because I figured it came from using scented soaps and sometimes lotion in my vaginal area. I never followed up with my gyn unfortunately until last week, when she told me I had chlamydia, please keep in mind this visit was also from April. It's weird that chlamydia was never bought to my attention with my PCP. Last week my PCP told me that I was diagnosed with HSV2 ..my gyn never mentioned it. My first visit from my PCP this wasn't mentioned either.. I tested negative for HSV1 but positive for HSV2 igm testing... My numbers for HSV2 igm titter: were 1:40A (<1:20) ..no symptoms no outbreaks. I'm very confused as to why I'm getting 2 different results from my gyn and my PCP ..I'm wondering do I really have HSV2.. Should I be concerned or take more test? Please give me your honest and most thorough answers..

Any IgM result for an adult must be disregarded. It has little meaning positive or negative given the huge amount of false positives and negatives. You cannot be diagnosed with IgM. IgG is a different story. If you are negative on IgG then that is the truth.

So how will I get tested for IgG? I'm a young adult and never been through anything like this so please bare with me. I was given medication and my PCP told me wait 30 days to come back for Igm to turn into IgG ..very confused! I'm was tested yesterday and awaiting the results ..

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
