I get my results tomorrow. I'm almost 100 percent sure that it'll be positive as I'm having all of the symptoms. I don't understand how people lead normal lives with something of this nature. Is it possible to live a life where you can work, get married, and have kids?? Just in need of a little reassurance and comfort as I already feel my life is over.

Yes you can have assurance that your life need not be different to planned because of genital herpes. There are plenty of stories on here. More important though are the millions of stories that are not on here because people and couples are blissfully unaware of genital herpes or simply do not care given the minimal impact on their lives.

We can help you if you tell us about your situation, symptoms and testing that has been undertaken.

It's very possible to live a normal life, other than the things that comes along with the territory of what you have, but I believe that you can ultimately defeat this and eventually live a normal life. Just because you've heard of no cure doesn't mean you can't find out what can cure you or anyone else. Realistically, inside of these viruses, you can be happy, have kids and get married, yes. You may not know many others dealing with this, but there are plenty of others that are going through the same thing. Different ppl handle these kind of things differently. The most important part of it is accepting your condition and allowing yourself to go through the stages. Grieve, get upset, regret, etc. After all that just be able to move on and not make it the rest of your life. Got it?  Be strong and take care.

I have the same way.. I havent even received results or seen a doctor but from my symptoms i know for sure i at least has HSV-1. Honestly this site as well as others have helped me alot. Its terrifying thinking about what my friends and family might think but the more support groups and chat rooms and dating sites i find the more i find kind, encouraging people who make everything feel like it will be okay. I had no idea so many people were living with this sort of thing. Ive been on and off crying all day, thinking maybe this happened for a reason. back to crying, and then to realizing that HSV dating sites have way hotter boys then non HSV dating sites. Which has been a very nice light in this dark tunnel LOL. Its going to be an adjustment for all of us. And i feel guilt, and regret and sadness every second that passes right now, but im sure things will get better for both of us. Stay strong .. we're in this stuff together!

So many people live normal lives with HIV,cancer and MS while being married or in long term relationships.Sex is one tiny component of a relationship, if someone only wants you for a few minutes, then do you really want to be with someone like that? If anything you'll fall in love with that persons personality, which will last longer than any physical aspects they bring. Regardless of what happens, know that you're not alone, so many people all over the world, have this and they still lead productive and fullfilling lives. This is not a death sentence. In the meantime, distract yourself and look after yourself.Chin up :)

i eat lots of diary, vitamin C enriched foods (oranges etc), bananas, pears, chicken, sweet potato, kale, dark, leafy veggies, eggs, tuna. Some people believe coffee, junk food, nuts, alcohol, chocolate, trigger outbreaks. However, everyone is different. Basically, just eat healthy, keep hydrated, drink tea, and take your vitamins and your body should build up your immunity soon.

Also can anyone tell me what changes in diet to make??

The main things that I've read that can cause and prolong OBs, and that I have to watch, are corn and anything made of it, chocolate, nuts and grains and anything made of them, such as wheat bread. There are many lysine (good) ~vs~ arginine (bad) lists to print out. Having one is invaluable. Google it. There may be a link to a lysine foods list somewhere on this site. There used to be I think. Some of them you have to learn how to read by understanding ratios, the grams of lysine to arginine in different foods. Over time you'll learn what will cause you problems, if any. Making a change can be as little as cutting back or reducing your intake of some foods to eliminating some from your diet altogether. Lysine pills can add more to your diet to counteract arginine. Caffeine can cause problems for some, but I drink decaf now so haven't felt that I have to stop drinking it.

Grl222, have you got your results yet?

Hi,

about 6 days prior igg for type 1 and 2 were both negative. 17 days prior igg for both were still negative but a positive igm at .94. I'm sure I have it. I'm going to get a swab of the area done. A swab of my cervix was done at 6 days after and it came back negative but I know that means nothing. And as far as nerve stuff does it also cause muscles to easily tire???

No herpes has no impact on muscles. IgM is a pointless test, too many false positives and 0.94 is not positive at all.

Follow up with your 12 week IgG test (only).

I thought the igm was of some significance because at 6 days it was within normal range and then at 17 days it had increased to what was considered high. And I thought herpes impacted the nerves, so it has nothing to do with unsteadiness, muscle/joint pain, really red/tired hands after cutting meat to be prepared for dinner??

Just another set of supporting articles to a potential release date in 2024 giving hope to sufferers whom the standard of care is currently worthless: Promising Progress in clinical trials for Pritelivir (herpescureadvocacy.com) HSV Treatment Readies for Approval — Precision Vaccinations News

I have not found a cheaper source for Amenalief, and I've searched high and low. I have a thread called "Pritelivir at Last" you may want to follow as I have a strong belief that It may be available to the public in the summer of 2024 and as I find new info, I update the thread immediately. Now, may I suggest a combination of drugs that several others on this forum have found to be very effective over acyclovir alone? Myself and others have found that taking 40mg of omeprazole (Tagamet @dissolvedo2 ) with 1 gram of Valacyclovir in the morning and 1 gram of Valacyclovir in the evening alone for 3 days have had profound effectiveness at stopping outbreaks in their tracks. I'd like to remind you that I am not a doctor and at best I am personal researcher for what works for me. I @lw@ys share my findings with the forum in the hopes to help others alleviate their suffering. There is another drug combo that I have tried myself as well as others on this forum have tried and that I personally feel is a much more effective for myself. This combo is 1 gram of activated charcoal with 1-gram of valacyclovir in the morning followed by 1 gram of valacyclovir in the evening alone, again for 3 days. I have found that this has reduced my outbreaks to almost only once a year and they are mild at worse. Again, just a reminder that this works for me and may not work for you but I always feel that i have to share this with anyone that cannot get this virus under control so I hope my findings can help those of you who cannot achieve relief with the standard treatment alone. The stronger anti-virals come with risks and if I can help anyone avoid those risks then by all means I feel I have done some good in this world. I only ask that you let me know if either of these suggestions work for you so that I can document it in my notes. Good luck my friend!

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti
