I understand you I was once in your shoes still somewhat in your shoes the best advice i would give you is not to dwell on what you cannot change . Although you got it on your first try and it could be very hurtful there's no way to actually prevent yourself from getting it . Some people don't have symptoms and some do while some know they have it and some don't it's just an unlucky game and some of us are dealt the same hand . Just keep on going sure you like everyone else wil have down days but that's life and all you can do is keep moving and loving yourself for every bad feeling counter act it with a good thought eventually the bad feelings will get less over time . I'm sure one day like most of us yu will come to your acceptance stage where you barely would think about it . Keep going and focus yourself and life on positive energy but know that it's totally normal to have down days . Best of luck

Yeah, the thought of taking something for the rest of your life isn't an easy one to swallow.   It will get better with time.  I don't know your history, diet, lifestyle, weight and whatnot but herpes is an affliction of the nerves.

Rx antivirals are only antiviral.  And from what I've read, they have poor bioavailability.  There are HSV-resistant strains to Rx antivirals.

So I brought up St. John's Wort on another forum and there were people who commented who got really great results with Valtrex and warned of St. John's Wort.  understandable.  but then one man posted and I want to just copy and paste his message.

"I used to get Obs ever month, Acyclovir didn't work, L-Lysine didn't work, I started taking St Johns Wort (under my drs supervision) and I stopped having Obs all together. I used to get the worst obs and when the St Johns wort knocked it out, I kept taking it for a few years, I finally stopped taking it and now I only get obs once every year and a half. I always suggest that people try it, its not guaranteed to work for anyone else the way it worked for me."

So what's going on with SJW?  Well, SJW is very antiviral, it regenerates nerves and flesh.  HSV afflicting the nerves, erupting from the nerves, causes pain rooted at the nerves.  And for as long as those nerves/wires are frayed, they will be a vulnerable spot for HSV to spark up again.  St. John's Wort is a miracle.  Now, if you're bipolar, or taking psych meds then talk with your doc.  Next to recurrent breakouts on my philtrum, I started getting these ulcerations on my face and chin.  It would chill out and come back.  When I started taking the SJW, the issues on my face stopped.  I would get a few lesions on my philtrum but they've chilled out now.   before, I was focusing on herbs that bumped up the immune response but nothing was addressing the root, which is the nerves...  SJW goes to the nerves.  Read about it.  There's oodles of information out there on it.  I suggest Gaia Herbs brand, just start taking 1 a day.  If you don't feel well with it then stop.   There won't be able problem taking it in proximity of aciclovir. Psych meds are another story.

As a matter of fact, the topical ointment that's shown on this website, the chief ingredient in it is St. John's Wort.

Biogetica.com sells a product that may not be a bad idea to look into as it's more balanced with SJW and other heat clearing and adaptogenic herbs to help restore your normal functioning.  It's called Hyperisince (or something like that) It's $48+shipping.  I have a bottle of it, it's great, I've used like 10 pills over the past 6 months and will crack half of one if things start acting up and I don't want to take a full dose of the Gaia Herbs SJW.

I don't know how bad you're suffering.  But when I was going first experiencing my issues, all I wanted was something to put out the burning, itching and tingling.  Gaia Herbs makes a formula called Echinacea Goldenseal.  It also has St. John's Wort in it.  It's meant for short term use. (like use for a week and reassess)  I have it as an emergency formula in the cupboard.  Echinacea boosts the immune system and enhances lymphatic circulation.  Goldenseal is antibacterial, antiinflammatory, it has been shown to increase blood circulation to the spleen (antigens are brought to the spleen and presented to lymphocytes to learn and to manufacture the appropriate antigen response.)  And then there's St. John's Wort...  Saint John's Wort is nerve targeting, antiviral, nerve and flesh regenerating...

I don't know you so it's difficult to say what you should do.   This is a chronic viral infection and if your body hadn't been able to get the upper hand on it, I'd say go for the Echinacea Goldenseal for 3-5 days.  Reassess.   If you have issues of nausea then the biogetica formula may suit you more as it's more balanced for long term use.  OR, you could just try plain ol' St. John's Wort and see how it goes.

Also, make sure you're taking a good multivitamin-mineral complex.  Can't overlook the importance of supplying your body/cells the compounds for effectively dealing with this.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

Hey, I dunno if this helps, but obviously you're not the only one with this burden. I am 15, and have it too. Nobody seems to understand how bad it is unless they have it. It's really affected the way I look at relationships, but it doesn't make you less of a person.

Yes it does affect a way in relationships and I swear I was stressing bad and very scared when I got in a relationship but when I told him he was very understanding and supportive. I was completely stress free because I was actually falling for him. & Thanks Everyone, I really appreciate your advice. It really helped and as soon I get a new doctor , I will tell him to prescribe me valtrex and see how that works.

Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

In this forum we will discuss does lume work Lume is paraben-free and uses several natural ingredients like Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, tapioca starch, and Maranta arundinacea root powder (also known as arrowroot powder) to control odor and sweat. One of the key Lume deodorant ingredients is mandelic acid, an AHA found in skin care products, which also has an antibacterial effect.

Ibuprofen medicine is a painkiller. Can you take ibuprofen on an empty stomach  Some people take medicine empty stomach which is not good for our health. Because painkiller kind of medicine is very strong and can harm your liver. Medicine makes many strong ingredients. like Lactose, corn starch, hypromellose, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), and carnauba wax.
