At a loss...

I've been attempting to date since finding out about this thing and I am getting very discouraged. I knew there would be challenges, but jeez. I think I must just be attracted to or attract guys with shitty personalities. I think this more of a rant. Everyone just always tells us how herpes will help us weed out the shitty people who can't see past the virus, but I've realized that just isn't true and we'll still have to dodge people just want to get laid regardless. I met a douche and we started hanging out and before it even started to get intimate I asked if he was just looking for a hook up because I wasn't (of course he said no). So when we finally started to hook up he begs me not to make him wear a condom (which made me think, silly me, that he actually might care about or like me (Who has to be begged to wear a condom after being told their potential partner has herpes?) and afterwards I don't hear from him until he wants to hang out again which happens to be two or three weeks later. I would never take that chance without actually caring for someone, but I guess everyone isn't wired that way. Or am I just crazy?

You are not crazy at all.  Dating is a roller coaster and having this virus puts a different spin on it, no doubt.  That doesn't mean you should stop trying.  There are good people out there and you will meet one.  I know it's hard, but stay positive and put yourself out there.  It will be worth the wait.  Hang in there.
