I don't think olive leaf is working

What have you tried, aside from olive leaf extract?

On this forum the Alkaline Theory is discussed
.....

There's a pdf book floating around the internet for $10.  The Mystic Yogini, talks about how she conquers her HSV-2.   Personally, I really enjoyed it. ^_^  But she says that for when she feels that she might be having a outbreak that all she does is take a shot of baking soda.  start with 1 tsp

"The Recipe

1 - 3 tsps of aluminum free baking soda 1 shot glass of water
Mix the baking soda into the shot glass of water. Take the baking soda shot.
Easy. Direct. Almost effortless. And it works every time.

Some key notes to consider:

  •   More is NOT better. If you take over 3 tsps of baking soda in a day you will have diarrhea.

  •   The best baking soda on the market for internal uses will be aluminum free. I buy some from the local co-op and keep a handy supply of it. Aluminum is not a good idea to ingest in any format, including in your food.

  •   Do not take this every day. Baking soda can damage your stomach and more. It is a powerful substance and while it alkalizes your system sustained use over a long time can cause worse health problems.

I take a shot the day I feel a breakout coming. If I wake up the next day and still feel it coming I take another shot. The most I've ever had to take was three shots three days in a row.

It always works. "

I'm just going to copy and paste this from another post....   So there's the Mystic Yogini, in the field.  Here's an image/diagram from a virologist who has been studying the herpes simplex virus for 20 years.

Herpes-diagram-web.jpg

"Among the experts will be virologist Anthony Nicola of Washington State University, who has spent 20 years studying herpes simplex virus and who will convene a workshop session..."

"...Among other things, Nicola studies how the virus is able to reach the host cell’s cytoplasm, or nucleus, where it churns out millions of new viral particles to launch infection. By detecting lowering alkaline levels inside the cell, “the herpesvirus abandons ship from inside its vesicle before the cell’s lysosome – an organelle that acts like a garbage disposal – can destroy it,” he said."

When I read the whole baking soda shot idea, I was a bit surprised. But then I read this article by a scientist who has been working with HSV for ~20 years. And in this article, he lays out how a drop in cellular pH promotes HSV virions to shed from the infected cell. So it's plausible even though I can't really fully wrap my head around "alkaline theory" to where I know a 100% certain. BUT, if you add a base to a solution then it will become more basic. The caution is to not add so much base that you disturb the natural gastric pH/acidity.

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
