Does anyone else have any advice on a midlife infection to offer? I have read the diets, took the pills, rubbed on the DMSO, dropped the olive oil, poured over the medical breakthroughs on the horizon, but need to know if I can do more.

Hey I am 42 and I got infect of herpes over 2 years ago. The 1st OB was severe then it was like come and go. I took Valtrex and Lysine. They worked well for me. Also the doctor suggested to use Pinetarsol for washing in the shower for the itchy. I tool suppressive for about a year and a half and stopped. I am ok now rarely have OB, speaking of it I had a mind one just 4 days ago so I started taking Valtrex and Lysine again. Now it seems gone. You will be ok. The longer you have it. The better it will be.

Cheers

Hello Tats Tastic

i recently joined this group and its my first time actually writing something.  I'm glad I can vent and talk about my current situation.  This December will make a year that I found out I was infected.  I haven't told a soul other than my doctor and I know I have it.  I have mixed emotions and am trying to deal with it as best as possible.  After my first OB, I have had 2 not as severe.  What I do notice is that I get very itchy but no OB.  I also take Valtrex and Lysine and in between some vitamins too.  Thank you for sharing about the Pinetorsol solution.  I am getting ready to go online to order.  It makes me so happy to hear that as time passes it gets better.  I just wish things could be normal again.

Hey herpes is not that bad.  I know that it makes you feel bad but I started not to care much about it. I told my parents,my sisters,my close friend and also a few colleagues at work as I work in a hospital. My friends did not say anything just listened and said it was nothing just skin infection. They are nurses and they do not care that I got it. I am now living with it ok. If I have outbreak which I kind of sense it when it's coming. I just start taking valtrex and lysine and always have pinetorsol handy in case I have itching. Hey feel free to chat with me anytime I am happy to share whatever I experienced about herpes.

What is the longest ob anyone has had.  I think I am going on month# 3 and am having severe anxiety attacks over it.  Never had anything like it before.  Never ending pain.

I have heard someone say she had one that lasted 4 months.  Are you taking antivirals?

The first outbreak is almost always the worst, so please believe it will get better with time :)

Good luck.

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Well thank you I appreciate it

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
