valtrex & marijuana

I'm really sorry guys! I hope it's ok for me to ask this question here.I've tried looking elsewhere on the internet and can't seem to find any info.

I have been smoking marijuana for over 20 years now.(I'm in my 30's)  Only recently,  I've noticed that I get much higher than ever before, off of just a little bit. My eyes get bloodshot immediately  (which never used to happen) & sometimes, I get paranoid (which never used to happen either)

The only thing that's changed recently is that I've started Valtrex (actually Valcyclovir) & I think the weed thing started around the time I started the antivirals.  This makes me wonder if perhaps the Valcyclocir is interacting with the weed somehow?

Has anyone else who smokes marijuana noticed this happen to them?

Well, a strong liver needs more of a substance to get high.  At the same time, if you're dehydrated and have less fluid/serum/blood/plasma then when a substance enters your body it will be more potent (as it's a higher concentration) than say if you had fully lusciously engorged vessels.  I've heard from friends and read online about how people report a drying effect from the antivirals.  This drying effect could offset that serum level to make you more sensitive.  Or it could be hurting your liver and thereby you liver is too weak to required more pot.  Just some ideas

But pot does lower your immune system.

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
