Initial outbreak

Ok, long story but please, please bare with me. I NEED advice!  So I just got positively diagnosed about 2 weeks ago. I have a very good knowledge of the human body and how it works,  but HSV is still confusing with all the information out there.  I got out of a relationship back in March and didn't have ANY sexual contact with anybody for almost 5 months,  then I started seeing a guy I've known for about 4 years now.  We've been seeing each other about 2 months.  My first sign (painful lesion) that something was going on happen to pop up about 4 days after me and him had a 5 day vacation  (lots of oral and vaginal sex). At first I thought I was just sick bc I had a PAINFUL sore throat  and VERY swollen  lymph nodes in my neck, flu symptoms, muscle aches,  and generally weak. Then I had a swab done on the lesion and my diagnosis was confirmed.  About  4 days after my symptoms started I went to visit him again (we live in different towns) and he had what appeared to be a cold sore and I asked him about it. He admitted he gets cold sores, but wouldn't quite  admit that particular sore was in fact a cold sore. Mind you, I work in the medical field and see LOTS of conditions and it definitely looked like a cold sore. Also after my swab he was the first one I called, I let him know right away what was going on.

Finally,  the reason I mentioned my relationship back in March is bc that guy and my new guy are the only ones I didn't use condoms with (dumb but I trusted them).  I'm convinced that the new guy gave genital  HSV1 to me through shedding at the beginning of his cold sore outbreak through oral sex. Considering my symptoms,  time frame, circumstances ect. I can't tell if it's HSV1 or HSV2 yet bc I have to build up antibodies to get the test, and I got another 8-9 weeks to go (is recommended to wait 12 weeks after exposure). I'm at the end of my initial outbreak going on 4 weeks and I'm on a daily suppression med.

So my questions are: am I correct to assume the new guy gave me HSV? Has anyone here had an initial outbreak MONTHS after exposure? If the new guy did give it to me, what's the chances of giving him genital HSV, if he already has it orally?

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and answer my questions!

I am in a similar situation as you... I have past partners but have never shown any symptoms until shortly after beginning a physical relationship with a new partner. I dont want to play the blame game but I can't help but to feel like he gave it to me...

Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

In this forum we will discuss does lume work Lume is paraben-free and uses several natural ingredients like Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, tapioca starch, and Maranta arundinacea root powder (also known as arrowroot powder) to control odor and sweat. One of the key Lume deodorant ingredients is mandelic acid, an AHA found in skin care products, which also has an antibacterial effect.

Ibuprofen medicine is a painkiller. Can you take ibuprofen on an empty stomach  Some people take medicine empty stomach which is not good for our health. Because painkiller kind of medicine is very strong and can harm your liver. Medicine makes many strong ingredients. like Lactose, corn starch, hypromellose, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), and carnauba wax.
