Will This Ever ENd???!?

I've been trying to understand how this virus works, because I'm starting to feel like this first outbreak will never end.

I found out a few weeks ago that a sore I had on my perineum was probably herpes... (doc said it like it was nothing- and I wanted to hurl my guts onto the floor) swab came back positive for hsv2
I started valtrex that first day, (aug 30th) for 7 days becuase she thought since it was my first OB and there was only 1 sore, it was most likely hsv1 on the genitals.. well it wasn't...

Anyway, what I'm wondering is how long does this last? I mean it's been a solid  3 weeks- and that initial sore seems to have come and gone like 3 times...... It's making me crazy. why won't it heal? I'm sick of feeling like my lady bits are on fire or itchy, or just soooooo strange!  I'll feel like I'm getting through it, Ive accepted this and things will be okay, and I feel good.. but then a day or 2 later this damn little spot is raging again.

Any advice or encouragement is greatly appreciated.......

Hey I'm sorry your experiencing this never ending outbreak but I will tell you that it does go away . If your recently diagnosed then it may take longer due to the fact that your body needs time to adjust to the virus . When I have outbreaks I typically use nothing so I Cantrell you what to use for it . I've heard that coconut idol works well as well as Epsom salt baths . Other than that I would probably use powder to keep the area dry and just let it take its course. It will go away though trust me .-xo

Drink a pot of peppermint tea every day. I have been outbreak free for five years now using this simple strategy. Also you will need to recognize and remove your trigger foods. For me that was nuts (especially peanuts), coffee, and chocolate. Give it a little time and you will find a balance. Wishing you well.

Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

In this forum we will discuss does lume work Lume is paraben-free and uses several natural ingredients like Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, tapioca starch, and Maranta arundinacea root powder (also known as arrowroot powder) to control odor and sweat. One of the key Lume deodorant ingredients is mandelic acid, an AHA found in skin care products, which also has an antibacterial effect.

Ibuprofen medicine is a painkiller. Can you take ibuprofen on an empty stomach  Some people take medicine empty stomach which is not good for our health. Because painkiller kind of medicine is very strong and can harm your liver. Medicine makes many strong ingredients. like Lactose, corn starch, hypromellose, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), and carnauba wax.
