So the nerves that are responsible for the genitalia locally sources from the sacral nerve plexus.   Stimulating sexual activity activates the sacral nerves.   Genital HSV lives in the sacral nerves so activating the sacral nerves may activate hsv within.

...But what can you do about it?  mmm, there's no guarantee that you'll stop shedding even though you're not having an "outbreak".

But there's St. John's Wort that is very effective at going to the nerves and makes an environment where HSV can't mature or be functional.    I don't know about hsv2 but going on it for a week on SJW may help heal the nerves so they may more effectively communicate with each other and possibly heal faster than they erupt.

You should just go see an acupuncture and chinese medicine practitioner who can help you with how you're presenting.   They can help you refine and strengthen your "terrain" so that hsv doesn't erupt so easily.

If you don't want to try St. John's Wort then Resveratrol might be a good supplement to try for a little bit.

Here's a very good one.  It has helped me with my in the beginning genital issues.  I've read another member on this board who has used resveratrol with very good results.

Also, here's an important thing to consider.   When you blow your load, you're releasing so many hormones and unloading alllllll that sperm/semen and whatnot...   Usually after sex or ejaculation, males are tired.  It takes energy from the kidneys to regenerate and replenish things.   So just as you'd lose sleep, get stressed and tax yourself.... or tax your kidneys then things get depressed, like your immune system.    and then your body can't effectively suppress the herp!

So why do ppl have a higher rate of outbreaks after having sex?  Could be irritation.  It's funny, this morning I masturbated and experienced some moderately intense prodrome emanating from my tailbone, testicles and shaft.  It lasted several hours but the intensity of prodrome felt correlated w how "blown out" I felt, easing up w my energy coming back up.

to make and replenish fluids, sperm, hormones then there's a shift in the distribution of one's energy.   Case in point, the refractory period.   The kidneys are the testicles/ovaries and the kidneys are the pilot light for the rest of the body.  To have a major dump, all at once of some essence demands serious energy to replenish.

This thread is not about you. You do not have genital herpes. Your statements regarding orgasm are inaccurate, please research appropriately.

Haha, Wilso you don't know who you're talking to.

your lack of understanding anatomy and physiology, especially reproductive physiology makes everyone's issues a 'mystery' that you dismiss as "not herpes".

you don't have genital Hsv so what first hand insight can you offer?

Why does it always need to be about you, you have not made one helpful suggestion to the original poster. Please if you are only interested in talking about yourself and the most inaccurate, uneducated discussions on bodily functions then join another site. We try to deal in fact and be helpful here, not pander to our egos on subjects we know nothing about nor have experienced.

In the beginning, I tried to privately reconcile this with you but you ignored me.

I'm offering an alternative perspective that people can take with a grain of salt and hopefully enhance their awareness of what's going on with their body and how to effectively, rather than blindly, treat or go about it.

People are suffering and MDs are not showing up to effectively help.

But you're one of my best cheerleaders.  If it weren't for you, then I wouldn't research even more deeply to provide more evidence.

http://www.herballove.com/articles/science-aftermath-sexual-exhaustion-how-excessive-ejaculation-causes-damaging-chemical
"Masturbation and orgasms deplete the brain and spinal fluids of acetylcholine, dopamine and serotonin. Also diminished are hormones such as hGH, DHEA, testosterone, thyroxine (T4) and Triiodothyronine (T3), all neurotransmitters that are responsible for human functioning. All very important when it comes to sex. This deficiency melts the brain’s acetylcholine/parasympathetic, dopamine and serotonin nervous functions along with the endocrine functions."

...Oh by the way, there's a study talking about how thyroid hormone is very important in fighting and suppressing HSV.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3158742/
Effects of thyroid hormone on HSV-1 gene regulation: implications in the control of viral latency and reactivation.

While this study is of the effects of thyroid hormone on HSV-1 gene regulation, I think it's important to consider what parts of the immune system are responsive or promoting a positive feedback or a stimulating response to the thyroid....

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2768616/
The Immune System as a Regulator of Thyroid Hormone Activity

"In secondary lymphoid tissues, splenic dendritic cells (DCs) have been shown to be a particularly strong source of TSH. Following in vitro culture in medium without stimulation, or when cultured with staphylococcus enterotoxin B, DCs produced 3-6 times more TSH than was produced by purified B cells or T cells (7). The capacity of DCs to produce TSH was confirmed in vivo by immunofluorescence staining of splenic tissues from normal mice, which revealed that the majority of TSH-producing cells were localized in the marginal zones surrounding T cell areas and in germinal centers where DCs are enriched (8). Additionally, studies in our laboratory demonstrate that the number of TSH producing cells in the marginal zone of the spleen and lymph nodes is markedly increased following in vivo challenge with bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) (unpublished observation), suggesting that TSH producing cells of the immune system respond to strong antigenic stimuli with an aggressive burst of TSH production."

http://immunedisorders.homestead.com/herpes.html
"Natural Killer cells, thyroid hormone and iodine. Researchers have noticed the relationship between low thyroid hormone and decreased NK cell activity with optimum thyroid hormone causing the opposite effect. Dr. Jesse Stoff, Immunologist, states “Thyroid hormone stimulates the activity of Natural Killer (NK) cells.” He also mentions in his book, The Prostate Miracle, “Iodine also supports thyroid function, which is critical to immune, and specifically NK cell function”."

To come full circle, orgasm can depress thyroid function and depress the innate and adaptive immune system, both of which are important in fighting and suppressing HSV.

Oh for goodness sake that's just gibberish with no credibility.

i think you need to start at the beginning, please read Masters and Johnson for starters and we will graduate into the 70s from there.

Hi Mohammed,  I'm sorry you are continuing to have outbreaks.  I am a female,  and only have had H for about a 5 weeks.  I do however have a very high sex drive....and continue to masterbate regularly.  This may sound weird,  but what I now use as a lubricant is polypsporin cooling gel.  It tingles a bit more than KY. ..but it is worth the "protection" I get from spreading anything around if I am shedding because of the antibiotic component.  I am also on antivirals,  but was off of them for a few days and began to flare up again.  I have not yet had sex with anyone since being diagnosed because I am currently single.

I would also like to say that I am on Lysine ttablets two daily and have begun taking vitamins...when I remember.   I would like to caution you however about st Johns Wort if you are on antidepressants.  Although this can work very well on Herpes from what I understand,  it can interact with the effectiveness on several types of antidepressants and anti anxiety medications.   Best of luck.

Dude, I feel your pain. If I have sex, it's very common for me to have a break out. I think it has something to do with the abrasive nature of intercourse. So

I've learned overtime to really hydrate after, and double up on my vitamins and antivirals. Good luck.

Just so that I am clear. No sex, no masturbation, no alcohol, and no chocolate?

I have died and gone to hell. They told me this would happen. I guess that is what happens when you play with fire that can't be put out.

Hahahaha, you're so funny.  Not everyone responds the same.   If one goes to a traditional chinese medicine doc you won't be treated the same as one would going to an MD.   We all have our weaknesses/vulnerabilities.  An MD only see HSV+ and gives antivirals.  the TCM practitioner sees the vulnerabilities in different organs and builds them up accordingly.

Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

In this forum we will discuss does lume work Lume is paraben-free and uses several natural ingredients like Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, tapioca starch, and Maranta arundinacea root powder (also known as arrowroot powder) to control odor and sweat. One of the key Lume deodorant ingredients is mandelic acid, an AHA found in skin care products, which also has an antibacterial effect.

Ibuprofen medicine is a painkiller. Can you take ibuprofen on an empty stomach  Some people take medicine empty stomach which is not good for our health. Because painkiller kind of medicine is very strong and can harm your liver. Medicine makes many strong ingredients. like Lactose, corn starch, hypromellose, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), and carnauba wax.
