What's everyone's thoughts and experiences using tea tree oil?would love to hear some stories

A lot of ppl swear by it.   I think there are a lot of individual substances that are powerful but when combined in formulations are synergistically more effective and balanced.

 

take for example Super Lysine Plus Cold Sore ointment by Quantum.   Tea tree is in it, honey/propolis, Golsenseal, there's lemon balm....

the actions of the various herbs in it clear inflammation, expel pus/toxins, regenerate/nourish nerves and flesh, antiviral....

and just because it says cold sore doesn't mean one couldn't use it for genital sores. HSV is erupting in the same manner on either front and can be treated similarly.

 

then there's Manuka honey which is by bees who primarily harvested from the tea tree plant.  There are varying grades or this (UMF)

I've read that UMF 15 or greater is of a therapeutic strength.

you could apply the honey topically so that you get the benefits of the tea tree plant and the nourishing elements of honey.  You can use it internally to get a systemic response.

 

this is one of those things that I haven't tried.  Personally, I've had greater success with nervine herbs

Never worked for me but heard it worked for others. I went with a prescription medicine from a doctor
