struggling and discouraged

Hi, anyone who has read my posts knows that I am usually very positive and supportive of members having a difficult time.  But for the last couple of days I feel so completely overwhelmed, depressed and taken over by the outbreaks.  Every time I think I am getting my symptoms under control they seem to get worse again.  The itching was beyond terrible, and has now again turned to pain.  Particularly in the skin area right above my clitorous.   I am trying so very hard to fight the urge to give up...but it just never stops.

I'm on antivirals...two a day of Valtrex,  lysine two to four a day, goid quality vitamins, as well as many other prescription medications.  I have a large amount of stress that is out of my control right now.  Bad divorce, single mom of two, a daughter who is self harming, being forced to sell my home and do not have anywhere to live.  Then there are other medical issues, long term depression, uncontrolled diabeties, excessive high blood pressure, sleep apnea...and the list goes on.  I'm tired...and I just don't want to be here anymore...iit's to hard.  And being in pain, and feeling dirty, unlovable and rejected is taking its toll...it's not sure how much longer I can do this. ..I just want to feel normal again.  I'm devastated!

Thanks for sharing. I'm sorry no one has responded but I hope you are feeling better since the time you posted this. Have you tried Benadryl for your itching? How long have you had uncontrolled diabetes? As you probably already know, the excess sugar decreases your immune system. Are you on Lantus at bedtime? Sliding scale? Once you control your BS, then I would think the outbreaks would decrease.

Hey there. I'm so sorry you're struggling. I know exactly what that terrible clitoral itch feels like and it's enough to drive you crazy. I find that sitting with a hot water bottle or ice pack, depending on how you're feeling, on the itchy area helps calm things down a little bit. I'm also taking codeine right now, which has helped a lot.

Hi...and thank you for responding.  I am feeling somewhat better thank you.  I find once I have my period, my symptoms actually seem to decrease...and I just finished my cycle yestrerday...so I hope the itching and pain will not start up again. I have used benadryl, and Lanacaine cream...That helped alot.

I know you are right about the diabeties affecting my immune system.  I went to the diabetic clinic today and they actually started me on insulin...a long acting, I'm not sure which type...but I think that is the one.  I am also on 3 or 4 types of pills for it as well.  It has been out of control for a very long time and is starting to affect all systems now.

Thank you

Thank you Moorae.   I had forgotten about the ice packs...I had actually used that a few times at the start, but more for pain.  Thank you I will try it.   I'm glad the codine is helping you.  I have a problem with dizziness so I usually try to stay away from it.  Be well.

Benadryl also has a sedative effect. So if you itch at night, it works as a nice remedy. The Lantus I mentioned earlier is a long acting, so that in combination with your PO meds should help out a lot. A little exercise will also help lower blood sugar. Good luck!

Hi guys, My name is Shelly. I'm 25 years old! I've had Herpes for 5 going on 6 years now. I'm just here hoping to learn more ways to deal with the situation and meet new people who actually know what I'm going through!  Thank you for reading! 💕

Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

In this forum we will discuss does lume work Lume is paraben-free and uses several natural ingredients like Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, tapioca starch, and Maranta arundinacea root powder (also known as arrowroot powder) to control odor and sweat. One of the key Lume deodorant ingredients is mandelic acid, an AHA found in skin care products, which also has an antibacterial effect.

Ibuprofen medicine is a painkiller. Can you take ibuprofen on an empty stomach  Some people take medicine empty stomach which is not good for our health. Because painkiller kind of medicine is very strong and can harm your liver. Medicine makes many strong ingredients. like Lactose, corn starch, hypromellose, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), and carnauba wax.
