STRESS. Is it causing this ?

so I've been dealing with genital herpes for 6 months. I've been taking The generic brand for valtrex (my insurance covers the generic) I've been stressed out and recently have been getting a reoccurring bacterial infection. THEN I'll feel some discomfort down there like a flare up because my immune system is down. I take the prescribed medication everyday and vitamin D. I really think stress has something to do with my vaginal flora being all out of wack because when I stress I don't eat right or think right. I want to change my prescribed herpes medication and obviously stop stressing. Is there other things I should try ? I've been reading Saint johns wart helps some people. Is there any advice on other medications, vitamins ?

Ive read lysine taken over time makes your blood acidic in a way and counters it. It pretty much helps very well with cold sores. But I need help maintaining my immune system.

Hello Lilylover and welcome to the forum.

Stress is a trigger for H so you will definitely have to find ways to reduce your stress level. How when you are dealing with the realization of learning you have an STD is a lot to ask though so it's understandable how you are feeling. Here's a couple things that might help:

1. Try not taking the meds for a couple of days. I know it sounds crazy but for some, the pill reminds them of the issue and thus their stress level is elevated. Instead try epsom salts and a nice warm bath. This may help with the bacterial infection as well. The bath can help you relax and the salts should help with the flare up.

2. You can order Super Lysine from Amazon pretty cheap and I also use Olive Leaf extract. It's a more natural remedy then using Valocyclovir (I only use prescribed meds when I actually have an outbreak) and can be taken every day.

You've come to the right place in order to deal with your new situation. You're going to meet plenty of people here who have been in your shoes and plenty of people willing to help. Hang around in the chatroom and you'll run into quite a few people who are just as normal as anyone you'll meet in your neighborhood. You'll also meet a couple who have a few loose screws (their name rhymes with runflower ;)) but that's neither here nor there. Point is spend time with positive people and some of that positive energy with rub off on you and before you know it, your stress will be a bit less.

Best of luck.

Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

In this forum we will discuss does lume work Lume is paraben-free and uses several natural ingredients like Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, tapioca starch, and Maranta arundinacea root powder (also known as arrowroot powder) to control odor and sweat. One of the key Lume deodorant ingredients is mandelic acid, an AHA found in skin care products, which also has an antibacterial effect.

Ibuprofen medicine is a painkiller. Can you take ibuprofen on an empty stomach  Some people take medicine empty stomach which is not good for our health. Because painkiller kind of medicine is very strong and can harm your liver. Medicine makes many strong ingredients. like Lactose, corn starch, hypromellose, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), and carnauba wax.

Never had a history of Oral cold sores before, but have dated someone with them.  Thats very interesting about the test. This was my first full panel.  The large bumps have recently show up, its been about a few weeks when I noticed them. Again no pain nor fluids from them.
