Articles like this one make me want to cry.

I've also read about that particular actress and genital herpes speculation. I admit to looking up actresses with gh in a sad attempt to make myself feel better about this. Of course I hope she doesn't have it, but if she does (and sometimes I prefer to think she and ScarJo do lol), it's proof that viruses don't discriminate- even beautiful celebrities get unlucky and come down with infections like genital herpes. And like Jessica Alba, women with gh can get married and have healthy children and still be desired by many.

I'm not downplaying how upsetting it is to read an article like that- I've been SUPER down about gh today because I'm experiencing lots of really painful electric shocks all over my body- but chances are, whichever jerk wrote that also has herpes somewhere on their body and just doesn't know.

That article is disgusting but, to me, the author seems like an idiot douchebag anyway, so try not to let it get you down. Not everyone thinks like him.

He seems to be really happy with his life! Bashing other people, particularly ill people seems like he has internal/mental problems or probably wasn't hugged enough as a kid!  Anyways carry on with your day. This shit happens to a lot of people. I recently found out Terrence Howard (actor from Empire) has it as well, unfortunately he was outed by the courts while he was testifying against his wife in a divorce dispute. We all get sick at one point or another. Some get cancer as children, some get a bad case of diabetes and die in their twenties, some have alcoholism or drug addiction for life and others get Parkisons in their seventies! These are all health issues and no one is immune to it.  We just have to stay positive and get out of self for a minute. Unfortunately there are a bunch of ignorant morons out there and they are here to stay. He will get his, in one way or another, we all do.

Why are you reading trash like this anyway? Ignore the fact that this guy wrote a close minded and vindictive article about Jessica Alba and STD's, the website is absolute garbage from a guy who clearly has childhood issues that he's never resolved.

I think when things like Herpes hit us, it draws out those parts of ourselves that we don't like or that we are uncomfortable with. When articles like this affect us so much, perhaps it's touching on the judgemental and intolerant parts of ourselves. As much as herpes sucks, we have it and it's not going away........so we need to use it as an avenue for growth as human beings

Why do you care about some random idiots opinion on the Internet? This deluded fool is probably filing these updates from his mothers basement and, based on his use of chauvinistic language, likely doesn't have much luck with the ladies. The article seems more than a little bitter.

What I am getting at is: this person is taking his own problems and insecurities out on the population of actors. Herpes is just something he's latched onto to fuel that hate. You should pity this creature, not fear him.

The guy is a dick and clearly uneducated. He is trying to get a reaction from people but it's not worth the time or energy, use it on something productive like being ok with this virus or eating lots of yummy food!

All I can say is send him love and positive thoughts that his blatant ignorance, judgement and prejudice of herpes, lack of compassion and life is healed so that not only we can grow from our affliction but so he can as well.

Yeah that was a painfully juvenile article to read. It reads like a back and forth between two gossipy teenagers. I think this kind of perspective probably represents some section of public opinion, but I wouldn't take it to heart. There's not a lot of positive or more honest journalism surrounding herpes, because we're all still in the shadows, and lets be honest, there are legit reasons to fear it and I like most wish I didn't have it...

But with the number of social justice causes arising on facebook each day, and the constantly expanding feminist vernacular which is bubbling away in western if not global culture, we will all have more of a voice in times to come.

Hi @Anxious 1234 Did you get diagnosis for this?

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Well thank you I appreciate it

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
