Have anyone ever disclosed their condition to someone else your dating and there response was they too have HSV? I have and it was a relief but outside of that we just didn't click

I have given the 'talk' about a dozen times and have never had that happen to me.  And it didn't matter anyway, they ended up not really caring I had it.

I have dated two women who had it, one I met here on this website and another I  met at a local support group meeting.

I would not date someone just because they had this virus too.  I have never had problems dating outside of this community.

Good luck!

Hi JB, I have many times seen you mention your success with disclosure and that is encouraging. The fact that you have had the talk a dozen times and none of them were h positive does make me wonder how accurate the statistics are with regards to the percentage of women who are actually infected with the hsv. What are your thoughts on this, thanks.

Well I trust the stats.  Just because I have never had a chick say "me too" when I disclose doesn't mean they didn't have it.  I know the chances are great that I dated someone who did have it but did not know.  In fact the girl who gave it to me said she didn't know when I confronted her and back then I was like "WTF how can you NOT know?".  Now I know she probably didn't know she had it and really, I couldn't care less now if she did or not.

So even though I say I have dated many non herpsters, it doesn't mean they didn't have it but didn't know.

JB

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
