Woke up this morning my body hurts all over I have a bad sore throat and headache my arm pits hurt so bad the dr prescribed me valtrex I don't want to take it until I know for sure ugh

What you described does NOT sound like herpes symptoms. How did you get tested by HERPESELECT IGG BLOOD TEST or swab/culture? Under the arm could be lymph node and the other symptoms sound like how I felt when I acquired the flu :( .  Keep us posted, drink plenty fluids and take vitamin c to up the strength of your immunities. I don't know if a sore throat or headache are symptoms of hsv, but if your doctor prescribed Valtrex then go ahead and take it.  If your symptoms are due to this virus, it should help you feel better.  If it is not this virus, taking valtrex won't harm you.

Swab tests are tricky.  You can test too early and miss the virus and you can test too late and also miss the virus.  Do as Ace recommended and get a blood test.  However, blood tests are time sensitive as well.  Since it can take your immune system up to 16 weeks to create antibodies that the tests look for, you can test too early.  So wait until you are past the 16 week mark since you think you were exposed and take a blood test.

Hey Stjlynn, have they given you the results of the swab/culture yet, if not be sure to ask for a paper copy. The copy will tell you what particular test was performed and exactly what they tested for. These test could also show numerical values so it's important to get them and know your doctor doing correct test to determine your health status. Please keep us posted.

May I ask were you intimate with a partner with cold sores that leads you to think you've been exposed to herpes? Please keep us posted. Hugs Aces xo

Also putting Epsom Salts in the bath waters can help with irritations of peeing. Many say they use a warm water spray bottle over the toilet and spray when they need to pee. Using aloe baby wipes on that area can also help with urination wipe after each use, the aloe is soothing. Hugs Aces xo

Hi thanks for the responses I didn't notice any bumps on him but about a week maybe a little more I noticed I had a few. Bumps on my vagina the following day  it was so swollen and it burned when I peed for 3 days the burning has  gone. Away. Still have the bumps that seems kinda irrated they still haven't broken open or anything I had the test done Friday so hoping for some sort of result tomorrow it's stressful cause I won't know till after work probably I'm having a hard time keeping my head in the game not  know what's wrong with me

Well even if you do have herpes you can live a normal life.  Millions of people have it and it doesn't bother them at all.

This website is the best place come if you do find out you are a Herpster.  

Until you are diagnosed, it won't do you any good to dwell on this.

Hey Stjlynn, nothing's wrong with you not being focused at this stressful time you are going through, it's normal no matter what situations you are going through to feel disconnected from normalcy. Think positive and staying busy can help keep you grounded during this time. Back when I was diagnosed they had no internet or support for those like me with being newly diagnosed. I worked, I kept moving and tried not to dwell. You have us, this community and that's a plus. Keep us posted honey. Hugs Aces xo

This sounds like my symptoms with my initial outbreak.  Except my lymph nodes in my neck were SOOO swollen,  but nowhere else.  I was so weak, sore and tired that I missed 3 days of work. I felt a little better after about a week but my lymph nodes stayed swollen for about 2 weeks and my lesions  lasted almost  4 weeks  total. I really hope you don't have H but your body is definitely  fighting something.

      Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

      Hey @WilsoInAus miałam dzisiaj wizytę u dermatologa, gdyż dostałam zmian w pachwinie, w trakcie wakacji nad morzem. Udałam sie tam ze zmianami w postaci strupów. Powiedział ze nie można wykluczyć opryszczki mimo negatywnego wyniku Hsv igg i zalecił wymaz z pochwy na Hsv i inne choroby.
