I never knew..?!

My husband and I after eight years of marriage have opened ourselves up to polyamory this year. He and I have been monogamous for eight years, and I've become deeply involved with a male/female couple who has been monogamous with each other for the last thirteen years. My husband has not been intimate with anyone outside our marriage yet. Regrettably, intimacy began before testing was done.

About ten days ago, I started developing a rash around my anus which has since developed into large open sores around my anal opening and a very swollen and excruciatingly painful opening. Five days ago I developed a sore throat and a cold sore on my lip.

Two days ago, I went to urgent care and received no diagnosis, but was prescribed valtrex in case this is herpes, and amoxicillin in case it's bacterial. I was blood tested for HSV-1 and 2 and advised to apply an anti fungal crime in conjunction with the other medications.

Yesterday the pain was absolutely unbearable, so I made an appointment with a family physician. The PA diagnosed me with a bacterial infection, but called the MD in who immediately said I have either herpes or syphilis. They ran a full std blood panel, swabbed my lesions, administered an antibiotic injection, and told me to continue the valtrex and amoxicillin.

I should learn my results this week or next.

Understandably, I'm panicking. I trust my three partners. My husband does get cold sores occasionally, but my other two partners have never had cold sores or any genital or anal sores. The three of them were tested yesterday for everything and we are all waiting in limbo now.

Is is it possible that I contracted herpes 8+ years ago before I got with my husband and have been asymptomatic until now? Is it possible someone passed it to me while showing no symptoms?

Any clarity or guidance is SO appreciated.

It would be unlikely for this is to be an outbreak from an existing, long term infection.

This is either a primary infection of herpes or something else altogether.

Difficult questions I know, but it will help. What sex did you have in the week before the sores appeared (that is from 17 to 10 days ago)? Did you receive anal sex or analingus?

I haven't had anal sex or analingus in over a year, and both were from my husband. One possibility the PA presented was Ulcerative Colitis because of my history of irritable bowel syndrome which has worsened over the last few years. That's the reason any anal play has been a strict no.

Then this is looking pretty unlikely to be herpes related.

Of course your actual herpes status will therefore be unrelated. Probably all in not a bad idea to get the test results and share thr outcomes so everyone appreciates risks.

To answer your other question, I had PIV sex with both male partners, oral from one male partner, and oral from my female partner in the days just prior to the lesions appearing.

Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

In this forum we will discuss does lume work Lume is paraben-free and uses several natural ingredients like Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, tapioca starch, and Maranta arundinacea root powder (also known as arrowroot powder) to control odor and sweat. One of the key Lume deodorant ingredients is mandelic acid, an AHA found in skin care products, which also has an antibacterial effect.

Ibuprofen medicine is a painkiller. Can you take ibuprofen on an empty stomach  Some people take medicine empty stomach which is not good for our health. Because painkiller kind of medicine is very strong and can harm your liver. Medicine makes many strong ingredients. like Lactose, corn starch, hypromellose, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), and carnauba wax.

Never had a history of Oral cold sores before, but have dated someone with them.  Thats very interesting about the test. This was my first full panel.  The large bumps have recently show up, its been about a few weeks when I noticed them. Again no pain nor fluids from them.
