Hello,

I was diagnosed two days ago. I am feeling dirty and stupid. The doc said this has been lying dormant in my system for years. I contracted it from my ex-husband. I need support as I have no support systems or anyone I can tell this to. I did tell a very close relative and found out she has it as well. I don"t know what to do. I want to date and have a normal life, but I don't know what to do--especially now. I feel like a leper. Please help. Also, does this make you pee a lot? I am going like crazy.

Please help,

Hi panache, welcome honey. What is your type of herpes, ghsv 1 or ghsv 2? I have Ghsv 2 and I too got mine from the ex. I have only my now husband and daughter. I've told no one besides them two and doctors. Yes it made me feel like I had to pee and mine was in the anus too. I have Ghsv 2for almost 30 years but I stayed dormant for 23 years straight. My husband of 25yrs plus is still negative for herpes. I'm happy you found us. You've joined the most educated, supportive and kindest people a website can have. Welcome to our family community forum. You will be fine and it takes time but in the meantime visit Chat and speak with several people who know and understand what you are going through.       Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

      Hey @WilsoInAus miałam dzisiaj wizytę u dermatologa, gdyż dostałam zmian w pachwinie, w trakcie wakacji nad morzem. Udałam sie tam ze zmianami w postaci strupów. Powiedział ze nie można wykluczyć opryszczki mimo negatywnego wyniku Hsv igg i zalecił wymaz z pochwy na Hsv i inne choroby. Wytłumaczyłam mu że zmiany zamieniają się w strup, ale nie ma w nich płynu, więc zalecił badanie śluzu pochwy na hsv PCR, zastanawiam się czy ma to sens, i czy wirusa można wykryć na podstawie tego badania w wydzielin z szyjki macicy. Z góry dziekuje za pomoc
