Newly Diagnosed

New93

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I was just diagnosed with HSV 1 on my genitals. Does anyone else who has this have any information or experience they could share with me? I've heard it's more mild than HSV 2. I'm just confused about this virus and this is all new to me. I'm trying not to feel shame about it.

I have been diagnosed with the same type a couple of weeks ago. Basically it's cold sore on your genital. I'm now on suppressive therapy, also on lysine and Chinese medicine to improve immunity system. Don't panic or feel shame. You are still the same person as you were.

I am not sure about HSV1 because I have H1g. Do you have an OB New93? If you have an OB, talking to you doctor and get medication. Lysine is always good to have it handy. I got diagnosed about 2 and a half years ago. I got severe OB and started using Valtrex. I took it for about year and a half as suppressive and stopped. Iam ok.now rarely have OB but still got both Valtrex and lysine handy.

You will be OK. This site was a.big support for me from the beginning. Herpes doesnt define who you are so do not be shame.

Swabbed positive for HSV-1? Your partner has oral cold sores?

Fingers crossed you're one of the many that do not have outbreaks at all beyond 6 months of infection!

No matter which strain you have for almost everyone it will get better with time.  There will be a time you won't care about what you have.

I have been on this website daily for over 6 years and have chatted with thousands of Herpsters of that time.  Many of them have told me that getting genital herpes changed their lives for the better.

Learn all you can about what you have and you should realize it isnt' a big deal :)

No doubt about it, you partner gave this to you via oral sex. This has some postive perspectives including that he is most unlilkely to ever be infected genitally. Sex can continue exactly as it has before (maybe better as there are no transmission concerns now!)

Wait really?? Because my doctor did say I can't give type 1 to someone else who has type 1 and he has had cold sores in the past so that would mean he has it. Is it impossible for me to spread it to him genitally? Like even with an outbreak? Or should I still play it safe and only have sex when I don't have an outbreak?

I think best to avoid sex during outbreaks and then there is essentially a zero chance of transmission. He would have to have some compromise in his immune system (in the skin, blood etc.) for there to be any non zero style chance of infection. Observe this and yes I'd be very confident of no transmission to a male.

Your doctor may not be wrong either!

Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

In this forum we will discuss does lume work Lume is paraben-free and uses several natural ingredients like Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, tapioca starch, and Maranta arundinacea root powder (also known as arrowroot powder) to control odor and sweat. One of the key Lume deodorant ingredients is mandelic acid, an AHA found in skin care products, which also has an antibacterial effect.

Ibuprofen medicine is a painkiller. Can you take ibuprofen on an empty stomach  Some people take medicine empty stomach which is not good for our health. Because painkiller kind of medicine is very strong and can harm your liver. Medicine makes many strong ingredients. like Lactose, corn starch, hypromellose, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), and carnauba wax.
