I have thought about this before. The study results although only a small study are better then any other trial i have seen.

How come more people havnt tried this?

I would be the best person to ask, I had a circumcision based on having herpes (well, 50%, the other reason being i tore my foreskin during sex).

Its very hard to say, the max outbreaks i have had were 5 in a year, the only thing i will say is that the circumcision "line" is very sensitive and easily irritated.

Its encouraging to see this research show that circumcized guys will get less outbreaks, whether its the case or not we'll never truely know, but I'd rather have a study show that circumsized guys are less likely to transmit due to there being less mucosal tissue. This would put a smile on my face! lol

Thanks Lexyz,

When you say maximum outbreaks were 5 a year, was this before being circumcised?

How many outbreaks do you have now eg after circumcision?

Could I ask how long ago you had the operation? Does this irritation on the circumcision line cause you to get outbreaks? Would you recommend it?

PS sorry for so many questions, I just want to get a bit more of an idea if it I worth it.

The 5 a year were after being circumsized, i only got 2 (with foreskin) before i chose to make the decision.

After circumcision i've had about 4-5 per year. (i got it in 2013, so 5 each year basically).

The irritation may or may not lead to outbreaks im not sure, Im actually doing foreskin restoration as i lost some sensitivity from the circumcision.

From one man to another, DONT get circumsized. :)

That definitely answers all my questions. All the best with the restoration.

Just to clarify, without the circumcision I MAY have had more, but the way things panned out, i ended up getting the circumcision, so i dont consider 5 outbreaks per year as bad as some, but who knows, with more mucosal tissue, i could have been 5-10+ outbreaks, you never know...

The restoration is going well, it depends how you look at it, some guys have loved getting circumcized due to lasting longer in bed, but i was already quite good in bed in terms of lasting, so now the circimcision just means i am a beast, and takes me 1-2+ hours to cum.

But yeah, please dont get it done, you'll thank me in the long run.

I had 2 outbreaks a month before circumcision and went to 1-2 a year and dropping.....outbreaks were much smaller also and cleared quicker. I did start on suppression therapy prior to circumcision but that only helped some. Continued with suppression therapy after  circumcision.

Just another set of supporting articles to a potential release date in 2024 giving hope to sufferers whom the standard of care is currently worthless: Promising Progress in clinical trials for Pritelivir (herpescureadvocacy.com) HSV Treatment Readies for Approval — Precision Vaccinations News

I have not found a cheaper source for Amenalief, and I've searched high and low. I have a thread called "Pritelivir at Last" you may want to follow as I have a strong belief that It may be available to the public in the summer of 2024 and as I find new info, I update the thread immediately. Now, may I suggest a combination of drugs that several others on this forum have found to be very effective over acyclovir alone? Myself and others have found that taking 40mg of omeprazole (Tagamet @dissolvedo2 ) with 1 gram of Valacyclovir in the morning and 1 gram of Valacyclovir in the evening alone for 3 days have had profound effectiveness at stopping outbreaks in their tracks. I'd like to remind you that I am not a doctor and at best I am personal researcher for what works for me. I @lw@ys share my findings with the forum in the hopes to help others alleviate their suffering. There is another drug combo that I have tried myself as well as others on this forum have tried and that I personally feel is a much more effective for myself. This combo is 1 gram of activated charcoal with 1-gram of valacyclovir in the morning followed by 1 gram of valacyclovir in the evening alone, again for 3 days. I have found that this has reduced my outbreaks to almost only once a year and they are mild at worse. Again, just a reminder that this works for me and may not work for you but I always feel that i have to share this with anyone that cannot get this virus under control so I hope my findings can help those of you who cannot achieve relief with the standard treatment alone. The stronger anti-virals come with risks and if I can help anyone avoid those risks then by all means I feel I have done some good in this world. I only ask that you let me know if either of these suggestions work for you so that I can document it in my notes. Good luck my friend!

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti
