Hi Rachel011

I have heard that it will tricker a virus to be active because it will irritate that area. Anyhow since I got diagnosed. I have been shaving and found no problem with it make sure you wet and soap it before shaving and moisturising after shave. Even worse than that I had an IPL full Brazilian laser many time.  It is not a problem for me. I guess different people would have different effects and outcome. You may try it first and see.

Hi when  I first was diagnosd, I was afraid to shave for a year. I would just trim instead. But after awhile I started shaving again. I just used a ton of shaving cream and made sure to moisturize really well afterwards.

My nurse practitioner said it reduces the chance of transmission if you do not shave too closely down there. The hair helps provide a barrier.

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
