We don't know whether or not Bavituximab will be a 'cure' but without Peregrine Pharmaceuticals doing a clinical trail for this virus, we will never have that answer. 

I'm asking everyone on this site to either call, write or email Peregrine and ask for them to do clinical trials in HSV. Their contact information is:

[Evaluate]

Before rallying the troops, how about some supporting arguments showing it might actually work?

Here's an argument: start supporting the people who are trying to get momentum rather than being constantly critical, beating them down and waiting for evidence to be handed to you while you do nothing. No trials would be in progress if everyone thought like you, it has to start somewhere..with risk and uncertainty involved.

E-mailed them over a year or two ago. They have no interest in any trials against viruses, even though I believe they finished Phase 1 and 2 against CMV. They are putting all their resources into cancer therapy and cannot/ do not have the financial resources to start a trial against HSV.....

I reached out to them in the spring. Maybe, if enough people ask them to do a trial, then they will. Also, if funding is an issue than we could possible raise money for them. I'm up for anything that could cure this virus. Although, a lot of people on here put me down for that. This drug could start a clinical trial in HSV fast since it's already being used in other medical issues.

Bavituximab has not been approved yet for any type of treatment that I have read. They are in Phase 2 or 3 on cancer trials as a 1-2 combination therapy with another drug. They stopped CMV testing as far as I can find, even though I believe that they made it to Phase 2 trials. Would love to try this in combination with current antivirals to suppress and eliminate the viral reservoirs, but it would need a major funding push and a third party to run the trial (funding was a issue as was manpower - all going to cancer trials or so I remember from the response they wrote me).

Actually, this would be a great 1-2-3 combination with a vaccine, current antivirals and Bavituximab.
