I received a email from Gary Carlton the main guy from aurx who developed a vaccine for hsv2 which worked. They are ready for phase 3. All the lacked was funding.

It looks like someone is willing to find them if they think there's enough interest from the public with hsv2.

there is a questionair on Google can we all take a few minutes to complete this and please share as much as you can.

this vaccine is the closest out of any of them in coming to the market

link for questionnaire http://goo.gl/forms/rqqG9r8mpj

aurx website http://www.aurx.com

if this gets enough interest maybe they can go ahead with stage 3

I love it how the WHO puts out a call for a HSV vaccine and out comes companies like this who could have had this out a decade ago. The WHO themselves should put in the 10 mill for trials required. I read this vaccine (not sure if correct) that it had an efficacy rate of 86% and stopped herpes completely in almost 50% of ppl.

Good news indeed, can we all fill out the questionnaire that's what really matters. If there isn't enough people interested the backer won't go ahead by the sounds of it

I also filled it out. Can anyone tell me about this vaccine or company as I am new to all this? 85 percent sounds pretty great right? If this did go ahead this could be only a couple years away right? Faster than genocea

Strange tho why they feel they need a questionair to gauge whether people want this vaccine or not! Have they been living on planet Mars?? They will make a A LOT of money!

Seriously though haha. But if it's 85 percent effective (does that mean like less likely to pass on?? Aka how Genocea did 58) and combining condoms that's a sweet deal.

I filled out survey. The only issue with that 85% reduction mark is that they really didn't do a shedding trial. It was all observational but still similar to Valtrex trial. They compared and contrasted their trials with Valtrex in regards to patients frequency of outbreaks. This vaccine is very similar to Halfords so hopefully they get their funding; IMO the more trials and research the better.

A few things to consider:

1) does 10 million for a phase III trial seem like not a lot of money?  I would have guessed it would cost more

2) did they say anything about where the phase III trial was to be conducted?  I know their previous operations were in Mexico City.

3) who is the mystery backer???

This all seems a little strange, but I am hoping that it is real :)

Filled it out!

Received a similar e-mail from Gary Carlton. I e-mailed him in past. Good to see he is still trying to push this vaccine.

Anyone know of any other forums to push this information to?? Need to get more people to show interest....

Hello, I have always thought the Aurx Herpes Vaccine by Gary Carlton and Laura Aurelian was the closest and best option for an effective treatment or possibly functional cure for HSV.

I completed the questionnaire, I hope this is the real deal.

I have some expertise in web design, SEO marketing and social media marketing and I would like to offer my services to Gary (their website looks like it can use a facelift).

Can Supaed133 or any other members that have been in contact with Gary ask if he would like some help? Or perhaps let me know how to contact him?

Wow that site is vintage lol.  Could someone post a copy of the e-mail he sent out?  Thanks.

We have a venture capitalist who is interested in commercializing the theracine.  He developed a market survey as one of the last steps but unfortunately this is the response so far.

I posted it to 4 support groups and 12 email lists, and have gotten zero responses so far (in 10 days).
I was even banned from herpeslife.com for asking the moderator where to post the survey. Clearly they don't want a cure, so they can sell their services to people affected. Sad.

Do you have suggestions?

The only way I see 10 million funding a phase 3 trial would be in Mexico. A phase 3 trial in the states would cost at least 100 million.

Hopefully they are looking at the overall affected population, and not who may or may not respond to a survey on a chat board.  That seems kind of amateur.

If Genocea thinks their Gen-003, could be a $1 billion revenue generator at a 58% treatment rate, any company or smart VC group would know what type of payout would exist if someone has a better vaccine...

It would be awesome if this news is legit! I tried emailing them to express interest & offer assistance. The customer service email on their website yields a delivery failure notice and link to trial registry is broken. It would be great if trials were continued in Mexico because it would probably be quicker. I can't believe they need a survey to be assured this product is wanted / needed! I guess that is probably standard investment protocol. Is there a better way to contact Gary Calton?

Received a e-mail from the person leading the efforts. I asked him to look into whether or not they can produce the vaccine and we pay for it prior to FDA approval and receive it now. It would help fund the Phase 3 trial. Only reason I asked is I have seen a lot of Stem Cell Therapy companies pop up and are administering non FDA approved treatments (not guarantee'd). I advised him to become a member and post here. Hope he do!

Also, I received a e-mail from an investor looking for Gary Carlton's e-mail. I forwarded him Gary's e-mail and the e-mail of the person pushing the Aurx vaccine.

I really suggest that the best thing is for both you and your boyfriend to obtain the Westernblot HSV test. He has a 50%+ chance of being positive and you have a 50%+ chance of being negative. Only the Westernblot can sort this out for you.

Hi @kpn the first thing to note is that it is all OK to have HSV-1 or indeed any HSV type. It is not negligence, it is just being human. Oral HSV-1 is not an STD in the sense that the primary transmission is non sexual and the majority of it occurs between parents to children. If any of your children contracted HSV, you would know it. It wouldn't be a silent infection for children. HSV-2 tends not to shed from the oral region for people who have it there in any event. At age 73, about 80% of the population has HSV-1. There is no reason to believe that your mother isn't one of those people. About half of all carriers of oral HSV-1 do not realise they have it and have no living memory of cold sores as they were infected when very young. The most logical explanation is that your mother has oral HSV-1 from her childhood and that your daughter doesn't have oral HSV. Not that it is relevant to anyone but yourself, but your wife might find she actually has genital HSV-1 having had an untyped swab when she was diagnosed.

Hi @Dylan86 and welcome to the website. First note that you cannot pragmatically become infected with HSV-1 from sharing a drink. If you carry HSV-1, it did not come from that episode. As such it is extremely unlikely HSV-1 is the primary cause of your issues. Can the WB miss a HSV-1 infection? Rarely but its feasible in less than 1% of carriers who test with WB. Note that the WB does not have values, it has positive or negative as you say. It is way more accurate than IgG as it looks for all 30+ antibodies that are in your blood for HSV. Could you have HSV-1? Yes it is feasible, but it would be a very old childhood infection. Could HSV-1 be causing your oral issues? No herpes will not cause the burning mouth syndrome you describe. Could some of the lesions be herpes related? It is feasible if you are a carrier. But it is unlikely to be the primary cause of the issues, but its an opportunistic virus that can cause issues when something else is taxing your immune system. The best thing you can do is the PCR test on a oral lesion and that will be pretty definitive. Either way, in summary. I'd suggest there is <1% chance you are part of about 70% of the population that has HSV-1. Further there is less than a 1% chance that herpes is the primary cause of your issues.

My wife has had hsv 2 for around 8 years. We have two young children 3 years old and 18 months old. My wife only had one outbreak when she was first infected so we didn't worry too much about passing it on to our children. I understand the risk to be pretty low under those circumstances. I don't believe my wife took antivirals during either pregnancy. My younger child has diaper rashes pretty often and has had what I thought was hand foot and mouth disease. That was going around the daycare a while back. I haven't really given it much concern though.  About a week ago, my mother kissed my youngest on the lips. My kid was congested at the time but they pretty much always are. About 3 days later, my mother developed a cold sore on her mouth. She has never had cold sores in her life and she is 73 and happily married so she is not going around messing with anyone. She pointed to the fact she had kissed my youngest and presumed that is where she was infected. At first I said that's not possible since my child has never had any cold sores but since then I have really started to consider that maybe it is possible she contracted it from my daughter. This has me worried that my daughter does indeed have hsv2 and was shedding in her mouth. Does anyone have any experience with this? I am really losing sleep about this. Two people I care so much about got hsv from my negligence. I am fine if I were to contract it, I am not worried about what others think at this point in my life. I just don't want anyone else to have it.

Hello DavidGua.... based on the two pictures, I'm not seeing anything that resembles a typical herpes outbreak.  I am not sure what those spots are on your penis.  Please have a doctor take a look and I'm sure you'll get a proper diagnosis.  Have you ever received an HSV antibody test (IgG)?  Again, I doubt your symptoms are herpes-related but, if you'd like some peace of mind, you could request the IgG antibody test for HSV2.   Best of luck.... let us know if you have any other questions/concerns.
