Can I pass the virus after a sore has healed

I've had the virus for years and typically break out once a year. I just developed a cold sore after not having one for a few years. I allowed my boyfriend to take a sip from my glass two days after the sore had completely healed but I had not changed the toothbrush I'd been using and the Chapstick I'd been using during the outbreak. Is it likely I passed him the virus this way? I always rinse my toothbrush with hot water before and after use. We've been together for over ten years and I'm usually very careful about not passing this to him but I'm concerned I wasn't being careful enough in this situation. I don't recall if I normally would replace my toothbrush and Chapstick after past breakouts as it's been a while since I had one. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

I don't know much about hsv1 but been reading allot about transmission lately and it's incredibly unlikely you would pass the virus on via a glass, especially once the sores healed xx

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
