3 months in - Strange symptoms - Need help and advice

Hello everyone,

 

You might have seen me post a few times, I tried giving my experience qith herpes so far.

Things for me turned a bit sour during the month of november and seem to be on their way to stay likr that for month 4 (december).

Here is a recap pf my situation, including the symptoms i've experienced every month. 

Please note than I never experienced a real outbreak YET.

 

september 1st - major exposure: got french kissed 

Month of september:

- medium pain in lower then upper lip (2 days)

- i had a episode of 3-4 days of flu lile symptoms

- I'd get a little zit in a random area around my mouth near the edge of my lip about once a week, for the first 4 weeks. This little zit would end up disappearing after 3-4 days.

- extremely dry lips which ended up peeling.

- skin between my upper lips and nose became extremly dryband started becoming white (white flakes) for about 1 week

- for the first time ai notice fordice in the middle of my upper lip: im pretty sure I didnt have that before. Its around that spot that the discomfort in ly upper lip can sometime be felt.

- the middle of my upper lip seem a bit swollen... And it lasted about 4 days.

October:

- i had one more of those little zit at some point. Again, in a random place around mouth.

- lips would in general be drying than normal

November:

- no more little zits

- Li discomfort!! I can feel a pain in the middle of my upper lip almost every day.  It comes and go.. And when I look closely at it, I can't decide if the area is swollen or not. I feel like it is a bit.  Sometimes when the pain is more annoying (its never that bad) i try to look closely and im pretty sure i can see one or 2 tiny crease.. Or sometime I can notice 3-4 tiny lil square of dry skin (dosent really look lile a scab) near that area where it looks a bit swollen.

 

I don't know whats going on.

Ive taken my first blood test on december 1st but realize than its only at 6month that Ill know anything. 

 

Have anyone ever heard of those weird symptoms? Ive heard about permanent prodrome.. Im wondering if thats what im having. Is it normal that my lips have became much more dry since my forst exposure? I wish I could show the doctor the lil patch of dry skin that sometimes appear on that upper lip spot, but they usually dont even stay there more than half a day.

 

Could I have HSV from that kiss, but be victim of something else at the moment? Is dermatisis possible?

In most cases there is little doubt as to a primary infection with herpes.

Your test will tell you what you need to know, 3 months will give you a confident result. 

Herpes does not cause dry lips. However dry lips can promote an outbreak in an infected person. Lack of water is the usual reason. If you work outside where your lips get wind and sun, you need more water than average.

Please post your test results when to hand.

have you been tested? Your symptoms mirror mine..I've never had a full blown outbreak, just the tiny bumps. But I have test results so I know what I have.

I'm getting my test result on Sunday.

ST: do you have it Orally too? do you still have those "constant" prodrome too?  There is little doubt to me that I have HSV1 but I think the symptoms I have (especially the constant lips dryness) might be caused by something else (dermatisis?). Ill talk with the doctor about all this on Sunday.

I just got my blood test result, which came positive but in a surprising way.  Considering all this was caused by kissing someone with a cold sore + Chronic lips symptoms (dryness, mild pain), I was expecting HSV-1 result.. But I'm actully HSV-2 positive with the following results, 3 months after exposure:

HSV-1: 0.2

HSV-2: 1.2

 

I'm still a little bit in shock that it's HSV2 but I suppose in the end it makes little difference.

I tried explaining my lips discomfort and constant dryness to the doctor and his answer was that he doubt that this is Herpes symptoms. He think my lips issue is probably something else and sent me to see a dermatologist.

I wish my lips could stop being constantly dry and hurting, maybe it would be easier to stop thinking about this all the time.
