Test results?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm new here and was wondering if anyone can help me interpret my test results. I recently got test a week ago for HSV 1 and HSV 2 along with a list of others. I was most concerned about HSV 2 since I felt itching, tingle, and gotten 2 bumps in my private area in the past 6 months. Anyways I got my test results back and it didn't say whether it was negative or positive it just said my IgG was less than .10 it was specifically written like " IgG<0.10" it was for both HSV 1 and HSV 2.

Does anyone knows if there is scale or what does mean?

That is a clear negative under any HSV test. For most tests in US labs, the index for a positive is greater than 1.1.

That means you are clear of the virus up until a few weeks ago. Did you have an exposure or symptoms that concerned you and when?

Yes, I was concerned about being exposed to HSV 2 from ex boyfriend  6 months ago. I haven't had any sexual encounters since then. However I had a lot of the symptoms early on. Such as itching, tingling, mid thigh pain, discharge, and I have gotten a few bumps. Went to the Doctor a week after the symptoms was getting worse to deal with. During that time they said it didn't look like herpes but a yeast infection, but they ran STD check and I came back positive for Chlamydia. Got the medicine and the symptoms went away.

I went to the Doctor a week ago as soon as I thought I was having another outbreak HSV 2. However my Doctor said the bump was little bit too small to get good culture from, so doing a blood test would be more accurate.

Hi Lexus! It sounds to me that it is negative. You have also been experiencing this for 6 months so you should be able to see if you are positive at this time in your results. HSV can mimic many things for females (lucky us I know). I would be tested for other infections to rule out everything. Also you can get a Western Blot test (very accurate blood test) if you need further confirmation.

Good luck! Much love,

Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

In this forum we will discuss does lume work Lume is paraben-free and uses several natural ingredients like Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, tapioca starch, and Maranta arundinacea root powder (also known as arrowroot powder) to control odor and sweat. One of the key Lume deodorant ingredients is mandelic acid, an AHA found in skin care products, which also has an antibacterial effect.

Ibuprofen medicine is a painkiller. Can you take ibuprofen on an empty stomach  Some people take medicine empty stomach which is not good for our health. Because painkiller kind of medicine is very strong and can harm your liver. Medicine makes many strong ingredients. like Lactose, corn starch, hypromellose, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), and carnauba wax.
