Hello all,

disgnosed with HSV2 here (blood test), abd I know it's oral since that's where I got my outbreaks.

I've been stuck with constant prodrome and outbreak for 2 months now.

Prodrome symptoms are: tingling, mild pain.

Outbreak: chapped lios that peel in the exact 2 same spots every time.

Also, my lils are constantly dry since primary infection.

I've used the sesrch option on here and fou d that lots of oral hsv2 people have constant issues.  To any of those person reading this: have you ever managed to find how to improve your situation, if so, how?

What are you main symptoms, can you also provide any photos?

I have hSV2 genitally, but i have never passed it to my oral region as its actually VERY rare to have oral hsv-2.

I have never had any oral symptoms such as blisters, pain, itching, tingling etc

Thanks for the advice Sanguine, I've actually ordered one of those stick online!

Lexy: I've added pictures of what I'm constantly experiencing to this post.

Note that I base my diagnostic on the following things:

- never had any issue with anything ressembling herpes in my whole life.

- in september, a woman who had the exqct same problem that I'm now experiencing french kissed me (chapped lips, dead skin on the same spot of the lip).

- Since that day I've been stuck with a serie of symptoms that came and go, but for the past month and a half the 2 ongoing symptoms are as described in my first post.

- that woman told me a doctor once diagnosted oral herpes on here (visual diagnostis)

- I had a blood test done in december (3 months and a half after exposure) which came up positive for HSV-2.

- After browsing the history of this board, I've found similar story regarding HSV-2 oral only.

Here's the attached pictures:

Note that the last picture was taken right after a shower when dead skin usually look more witheish.

Yeah I don't think that patch of reccurent yellowish dead skin would qualify as a cold sore but I do believe that it is the symptoms of my oral HSV-2.

After all, what other thing could be passed from one individual to another that produce something like that?

My HSV-2 diagnosis came from a blood test. I'm looking at the paper right now and it dosen't say the exact name for the test but results for HSV-1 and 2 were as follow:

HSV-1 Index: 0.2 AI - Negative

HSV-2 Index: 1.2 AI - Positive

OK, very low positive and hence most likely a false positive (Over 80% chance). You need to retest!

HSV-2 orally does not reoccur in the majority of people with it. For those that it does, the average I believe is each few years.

The primary issue here though is that you do not have a confirmed HSV-2 infection, far from it!

I know nothing about oral hsv2 but your lips do just look dry - I'm assuming you've tried vasaline /lip  balm a few times a day and that made no differnce?? If not give it a go, you never know :)

Hi Terrell,

can you give me some information on what you know about your situation. Diagnosed HSV1 or 2? Ever had cold sore classic symptoms? How did you contract this?

So far I've had one blood test positive for HSV2 at 1.2. This test was performed 2 months after exposure.

I'm going for a new blood test next week. I've reach the 6months mark.

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
