Test result questions

So I just received results from a blood and urine test I took a few days ago.

My HSV1 came back 0.29

(<=0.9= negative)

My HSV2 came back 0.14

(<=0.9 = negative)

What do these mean? I'm having my first outbreak of genital herpes but they didn't detect any antibodies, and it's definitely not an acute infection.

It's probably too soon for the antibodies to trigger the blood test, if indeed you have it. There are others on the board who are experts on test results, and I'm sure they will chime in.

A blood test and swab should be taken, if your doctor didn't take a swab, get one immediately and request PCR testing on the swab.

You are currently looking at minimum values for the tests at the present time. Each test has a different minimum that is usually from 0 to 0.4. Hence no antibodies have been detected at all in your blood.

What sexual episodes have you had in the past week? What symptoms do you presently have?

I was exposed on Christmas and my first outbreak started the day or two after with one or two blisters on my genital region. Thought they were shaving irritation until they grew in numbers and started popping and releasing fluid. I have discharge, swollen nodes and nerve pain. The pain was excruciating so I went to my doctor. She took one look and said it was definitely herpes and prescribed me acyclovir. I'm currently just treating the pain and trying to dry them out so I can move on with my life.

That's what I'm thinking, cause this is my first ever outbreak and I've only been dealing with this for a week.

      Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

      In this forum we will discuss does lume work Lume is paraben-free and uses several natural ingredients like Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, tapioca starch, and Maranta arundinacea root powder (also known as arrowroot powder) to control odor and sweat. One of the key Lume deodorant ingredients is mandelic acid, an AHA found in skin care products, which also has an antibacterial effect.

      Ibuprofen medicine is a painkiller. Can you take ibuprofen on an empty stomach  Some people take medicine empty stomach which is not good for our health. Because painkiller kind of medicine is very strong and can harm your liver. Medicine makes many strong ingredients. like Lactose, corn starch, hypromellose, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), and carnauba wax.
