Scared and confused

I am 18 years old and think I may have herpes. So I have been pretty sick for the last week with some kind of cold and one day I noticed a painful bump on the inside of my vagina lip. It started out as a raised bump and then had a white squishy like scab over it kind of like a blister. Then another little one appeared next to it. They hurt when touched or when I urinate and they only itch when touched. The thing is I have been dating the same guy for a year and almost 9 months now.  He is very trustworthy and neither of us have ever had visible symptoms of herpes. Before we dated we both had sex only once with one other person and it was with a condom. My boyfriend and i have had unprotected sex many of times. I just don't know where I would have gotten it from. I feel so disgusting and scared, i know i need to go get it checked out but I don't want my mom or bf to know until I know for sure. Im so scared my boyfriend will break up with me, all I want to do is cry.

Actually there are many good vaccines in the works (therapeutic) such as Genocea, Admedus, and there are Prophylactic Vaccines in development too that should be released within 4-10 years.

I can confidently say you will NOT suffer 100% from this your whole life. Hell, even in 20 years I'd expect there to be a functional cure.

Think of it this way, HSV is a filter to get rid of the guys only interested in sex, which is good for you as a person.

Its a skin condition.

Has your boyfriend ever had cold sores on his mouth? You might have gotten genital herpes type 1 (gHSV1) from oral sex (even if sores were not present at the time). Go get checked as soon as you can. The sooner the better so the doctor can take a swab and you don't have to wait for a blood test. If it is herpes, don't worry--you will still have a great life with lots of love and sex.

I have had this virus many years and it has never stopped me from doing anything or anyone I wanted.  I have given the 'talk' about a dozen times and have NEVER been rejected.  Almost all the sex I have had during this time has been unprotected (their choice) and I have never spread this.

I have been coming to this website daily for over 6 and a half years and have chatted with thousands of Herpsters during that time and many have told me that getting genital herpes changed their lives for the better.

I have chatted with many people who were POSITIVE they had herpes and later found out they did not.  So don't worry unnecessarily and go to a doctor.  Even if you do have genital herpes you can live a normal life.

Good luck!

JB

Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

In this forum we will discuss does lume work Lume is paraben-free and uses several natural ingredients like Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, tapioca starch, and Maranta arundinacea root powder (also known as arrowroot powder) to control odor and sweat. One of the key Lume deodorant ingredients is mandelic acid, an AHA found in skin care products, which also has an antibacterial effect.

Ibuprofen medicine is a painkiller. Can you take ibuprofen on an empty stomach  Some people take medicine empty stomach which is not good for our health. Because painkiller kind of medicine is very strong and can harm your liver. Medicine makes many strong ingredients. like Lactose, corn starch, hypromellose, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), and carnauba wax.
