So i had a few questions regarding showering with GHSV. Im about 3 months into this and im crazy nervous everytime i take a shower. So my questions are as follows:

1. What is the safest way to shower when your not showing symptoms?

2.Should face cloths be used once and thrown in the dirty laundry?

3.Do i have to worry about someone using the same bar of soap as me?

4.Is it possible to spread it to other area by showering?

Thank you in advance.

1, 3, 4. I shower normally. You spread the virus skin-to-skin so spreading it elsewhere while showering is highly unlikely (and thus sharing a bar of soap won't spread it). You would have to be shedding enough to spread it and touch some mucous membrane somewhere (visible to the eye or not) with the area of the skin that is shedding. But once you have the virus for a ~6 months you have enough antibodies to protect you (mostly) from getting it elsewhere. You still could technically get the same virus in two places but it's VERY unlikely, especially in the shower scenario. So it's possible to spread it but you really shouldn't worry about it because the chances are super small.

2. You should do that anyway. Bacteria grows on wet wash cloths. But if your only worry is herpes, then no you will be fine.

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
