Severe pain... please help

So I've been in a fair amount of pain for the past week, but starting Friday night I've been in an excruciating amount of pain, and I finally went to the doctor yesterday. She took blood and urine tests to run a full std panel, but when she got to look at what's going on down there, she said she would bet a million dollars it's herpes. She also said it looked like something else like a yeast infection or chlamydia was going on down there too. I tested positive for a bladder infection as well.

So you can probably imagine, having my first outbreak, combined with other things, the amount of pain I'm in :/. The herpes has also spread to my tongue and lips. I started on acyclovir yesterday for the herpes, a medication to help my urine not burn the lesions, cipro (antibiotic) for the bladder infection, zofran for the nausea associated with the herpes, and I think a couple other things I can't remember off the top of my head. So far I've taken one dose of the medicine for my urine (once a day med), one dose of the cipro  (twice a day med), one dose of Zofran (as needed), and two doses of acyclovir (3 times a day med).

The doctor said that with the acyclovir I should be feeling relief by Tuesday afternoon or maybe even morning. But the pain was so bad last night I kept waking up... even after taking flexeril (muscle relaxant for my back that knocks me out) and melatonin (natural sleep aid). Usually just ONE of those will knock me out for a while. I woke up an hour ago at 5 am and haven't been able to fall back asleep. The lesions around my anus are so much more painful and itchy now (they weren't really itchy before), the lesions on my tongue are more prominent and painful, and same with the ones on my lips (which were just starting to form yesterday morning/early afternoon). It's now even more painful to eat and drink. Even drinking water is excruciatingly painful now. Forget eating. All I was able to eat yesterday was maybe a fourth of a smoothie, by sticking the straw way to the back of my throat. It hurts to walk, move, sit, even just lie here. I don't know how the heck I'm supposed to go back to school and work on Wednesday. Not to mention, when I stand up, I get intense dizziness and nausea.

Ive been using carmex on my lips for the pain since that's what helped me the best when I had chelitis, but it looks like it's making them worse? Has anyone else had any experience with carmex on herpes? I ordered lysine extra or lysine plus (something like that... was highly recommended in someone's post on here) online, but it won't be here until the 8th. I need things I can use to help the pain asap. I can't even drive I'm in so much pain so I either have to order things online, wait for my dad to get off work around 5:30 pm, or try to find a friend to go get things for me. I've tried taking ibuprofen, aleve, and midol, but none of it seems to do anything to help the pain whatsoever. Any and all advice very much appreciated, thank you

If you're open to it, try an acupuncturist.  It's not 5pm (est time) yet. Maybe you can squeeze in last minute.  That would take care of the nausea and dizziness for sure. And since this is your first outbreak, acupuncture would really help clear the pain.

Mans they might give you a formula.   It's really difficult at first but just stick with it and it'll get better.  I thought the world was crumbling. ...and it was... But now things are much better.

but I went to acupuncturist and he helped me have energy and be emotionally positive during my lil initiation outbreak period. It's just one of those things that's difficult to explain why it works... But it does.

hope you're feeling a bit better  <3

Something that is worth trying that worked for me when I was desperately finding something so I could sleep was a sleepy time tea.  Usually they have a bunch of nervine herbs (herbs that soothe and heal nerves) like valerian, chamomile, St. John's wort, lavender, lemon balm, wood betony, licorice (not quite a nervine but it's soothing), catnip, skullcap...

usually you can find an herbal sleepy time blend as a tea or pill.  Id say make sure lemon balm is in there (Bare minimum), catnip, St. John's wort, wood betony(really help w urinary issues), skullcap...

i had so much relief from brewing my lil nervine tea I couldn't believe it. I was just looking for things that were cooling bc of the burning pain I had. I slept so well... Omg I woke up the next day and thought it was a dream.

Herpes is a nerve affliction, it didn't occur to me at the time that the nervines soothed the root of the problem.  Worth remembering when ppl say lemon balm and St. John's wort..: and catnip... And skullcap(for issues on the face/head) especially

after that experience, I couldn't take that during the day bc I had to work and goto school.  So I tried this product called Echinacea Goldenseal (from Gaia Herbs) and that gave me a tremendous amount of relief from the burning stabbing pain.

but all we can do is help our body adapt.   Take some kefir as a probiotic (I like it more than yogurt).  And enjoy some warm baths to help recharge and support your body's energetic efforts.

there is a homeopathic that's pretty damn effective called HRPZ Drops by professional formulas.  It's in the world of Nosodes and is surprisingly effective at helping your body identify the virus and taking care of it.   Anyhow, I know I'm just throwing a lot of stuff at ya but it's better to know more options if things are or aren't working.

I had a Master Herbalist make up a tincture for me that kicked viral ass! Some of the Herbs Sanguine108 mentioned were included in that. I never felt better in my life! It was nice to know I could take a tonic twice a day and could feel I was free and clear as naturals chosen for me were doing battle. Too bad he retired to our Great White North, out of my reach.

I had an amazing acupuncturist and while under his treatment I never had an outbreak so I know there is definitely something to that. He too moved away so I had to find alternatives. Not all are created equal. I recommend one who has been trained under traditional Chinese Medicine as there will be many modalities included in treatment of the whole person.

I now have a Naturopathic Doctor (ND) who uses all the modalities such as chinese medicine, herbs and acupuncture so I win! When I stayed away for years, due to personal problems, I went to "Hell In A Handcart" so using him again to fight my way back I proved his value to me!

You will be amazed at what natural science has to offer under professional guidance.

I promise not to use the same practitioners you choose so they won't need to move away!!!!

Thankfully you shouldn't feel this much pain again after your initial outbreak. Mine was just as bad. I feel your pain :/ but do know you'll be feeling like your old self again soon! I promise!

In the meantime, for your genitals, try soaking in a warm bath and holding a warm towel over your vagina after you pee. Taking a lot of Tylenol will help as well... Take religiously. The antivirals will start kicking it pretty quickly. And I also took Benadryl to help with itching and to help knock me out. Honestly that's all that worked for me during my initial OB. I couldn't sleep either Bc of the amount of pain. It's def the worst!

Hey @JS.245 and welcome to the website. The pictures aren’t that suggestive of herpes. Hard to tell from the pics what’s going on, but that could be a number of things. Are the larger bump bubble things persistent? What you have in the pics is hence independent of your herpes status.  The test results are inclusive - most people test over 5 if they are infected.  Do you have a history of oral cold sores?

Hey, just got a STD test a while ago after noticing these showing up at the base of my penis, but its been about 5 months since I was with someone and now these are showing up. It doesn't hurt nor do I have any other symptom that I know of. I'm trying to see what's up before I go to the doctors because I don't have insurance and I'm very anxious about the situation. the std test was expensive as is.

Just another set of supporting articles to a potential release date in 2024 giving hope to sufferers whom the standard of care is currently worthless: Promising Progress in clinical trials for Pritelivir (herpescureadvocacy.com) HSV Treatment Readies for Approval — Precision Vaccinations News

I have not found a cheaper source for Amenalief, and I've searched high and low. I have a thread called "Pritelivir at Last" you may want to follow as I have a strong belief that It may be available to the public in the summer of 2024 and as I find new info, I update the thread immediately. Now, may I suggest a combination of drugs that several others on this forum have found to be very effective over acyclovir alone? Myself and others have found that taking 40mg of omeprazole (Tagamet @dissolvedo2 ) with 1 gram of Valacyclovir in the morning and 1 gram of Valacyclovir in the evening alone for 3 days have had profound effectiveness at stopping outbreaks in their tracks. I'd like to remind you that I am not a doctor and at best I am personal researcher for what works for me. I @lw@ys share my findings with the forum in the hopes to help others alleviate their suffering. There is another drug combo that I have tried myself as well as others on this forum have tried and that I personally feel is a much more effective for myself. This combo is 1 gram of activated charcoal with 1-gram of valacyclovir in the morning followed by 1 gram of valacyclovir in the evening alone, again for 3 days. I have found that this has reduced my outbreaks to almost only once a year and they are mild at worse. Again, just a reminder that this works for me and may not work for you but I always feel that i have to share this with anyone that cannot get this virus under control so I hope my findings can help those of you who cannot achieve relief with the standard treatment alone. The stronger anti-virals come with risks and if I can help anyone avoid those risks then by all means I feel I have done some good in this world. I only ask that you let me know if either of these suggestions work for you so that I can document it in my notes. Good luck my friend!
