O/T - Positive for HPV (wart) also

Hey all, 

Not feeling great at the moment, went to the doctors to check about a mole i had in my pubic area, and it turns out it was a genital wart (hpv virus), so this is yet another virus i have to add to my list. Man, if only i could reverse time 2 years, lol!

Just wondering if anyone else has the two gifts that keep on giving? ha.

Apparently along with Chlyamydia, genital warts are some of the most common sti's, with 6-8 million people per year just in the USA getting diagnosed with them. 

Im going to get the HPV vaccine later this week (and it takes up to 6 months to fully administer), to try and protect myself from the cancerous strains. 

 

EDIT: I guess i cant feel too bad, some people have HSV-1 and HSV-2 on this forum, whereas I only have HSV-2, so sorry for any inconsideration here.

you have recurrence GW?

I heard GW will gone after mostly 6 months to 2 years

So did they swab the GW for culture or did they take a chunk out.   Is it still there? how have you treated it?

HPV is incredibly common, more so than HSV. Lots of folks on PS admit to having both. Like HSV some people show signs while some do not.

The sources suggest 80% of sexually active adults have or have had HPV in their lives.

How do you hear the warts ? Or are They for life like herpes

I have hsv2 and now just got hpv! Doctor prescribed imiquimod 5% to put on wart 3 times/wk and I'm taking valtrex 1000g everyday. I don't know how good the wart medicine is I just used it for the first time last night. It will take a month or so to see the result but I hope it will work. 

 

Right when I know how to manage my life with herpes now I have this warts! It's so embarrassing. I want them to go away if the medicine doesn't work I'm going to ask for another treatment like laser I want them to be gone asap! 

I think we won't be as bad if we keep our immune system strong. So I'm going to try to eat healthy and get enough sleep. As long as your immune system is strong, we won't get wart and herpes outbreak even when we have the virus. Gonna stay strong and be positive. We have to fight it off!

I have both too.  Warts don't come as often as HSV.  I get them frozen off and they stay gone for years.
