Hsv IGG test at 145 days!! -bad anxiety

hi guys. I need clarification on my testing and time frame. I had sex in the summer and had a small sore like thing on my penis for a couple days which did not hurt at all. It was gone very quickly before I could get in to doctors. But I also developed a groin rash around this time which persisted for weeks and was examined by several doctors who thought it was fungal. Girl I had been with also complained of a yeast infection (I know hsv can be mistaken for a yeast). Anyways, also had a sore left leg for a couple weeks.

No fever painful urination or flu symptoms.

I drove a long distance to get a herpeselect test igg about a week short of five months. Around 145 days. This was positive for hsv 1 and negative for hsv 2. I was happy for the negative hsv 2 result.

I will say both my parents get cold sores. I don't remember having one,. My girlfriend in high school used to get them occasionally and we probably weren't too careful.  But either way I am in my late 20s now and was very worried by my symptoms in the summer.

I have read that having type one can delay antibody production? Or that igg tests are not that great? Or I should've waited six months but some places say three or four. What should I do??

i really can't afford to drive again (almost eight hours and the test was out of pocket).

is my 4.5 month result for hsv 2 conclusive?

How can I be sure if I have hsv 1 orally or genitally when I didn't get a swab from the summer? Should I assume one or the other?

what should I test prospective partners?  Thanks guys

I have also read recently that some people test negative out to one year! Should I consider my 4.5-5 month test conclusive? I don't know if my sanity can hold up waiting till the summer to re test

Yes this is conclusive, you do not have genital herpes and you do not have HSV-2!!!

Thanks for the reply. I only ask about my test because I've read about people taking six months or a year for a positive test. You would move on if you were me given your expertise about hsv 2? At 4.5 months

Yes that is conclusive for HSV-2. Don't give full credibility to the stories you come across with delayed seroconversion; many are not true, are the result of misinterpretation or involve extenuating circumstances that are not applicable here.

Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

In this forum we will discuss does lume work Lume is paraben-free and uses several natural ingredients like Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, tapioca starch, and Maranta arundinacea root powder (also known as arrowroot powder) to control odor and sweat. One of the key Lume deodorant ingredients is mandelic acid, an AHA found in skin care products, which also has an antibacterial effect.

Ibuprofen medicine is a painkiller. Can you take ibuprofen on an empty stomach  Some people take medicine empty stomach which is not good for our health. Because painkiller kind of medicine is very strong and can harm your liver. Medicine makes many strong ingredients. like Lactose, corn starch, hypromellose, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), and carnauba wax.

Never had a history of Oral cold sores before, but have dated someone with them.  Thats very interesting about the test. This was my first full panel.  The large bumps have recently show up, its been about a few weeks when I noticed them. Again no pain nor fluids from them.
