Blood test questions

I just received my blood test back and I am still waiting for the test from the doctor (swab).  I have lesions but no other symptoms--no pain, itching, flu symptoms etc.

I tried to put a pic of the results but was unable to do it. It was an IGG test and both came back at <0.90 (negative) .

Thoughts?

This represents a baseline test for you. This means you did not have herpes until possibly recently. If it transpires that your swab is positive then you have been recently infected.

As such, your current partner is the only possible source of herpes. A test for him straight away will reveal what actual risks are present. Does he have test results?

No. His sores are gone--they only lasted a few days.  I am hoping to get the results from the swab in the next 2 days. If it is positive then he will go get a test--but we will probably have to wait a little while--because this would have been his first outbreak as well.  That way we can be sure he has had enough time to develop antigens to make the test worthwhile.

Well he can actually have a test now and probably should. Antibodies commence after infection and not first outbreak. Hence if he has been faithful, then he must be the carrier and will test positive. I think it is best to know his status regardless of yours.

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
