Very concerned and scared

Background: I'm 20 and have had sex with 2 people. One (long term bf) was a virgin as was I, the other a (condom protected) rebound. I got tested at 8 months post last possible exposure (Igg) and it came back negative.

Well I'm in a panic now. I dated this guy. He and I never had oral or sex. The closest we came was me lightly grinding on him (me in my underwear and him not) for about a minute. There may have been a second of me on top with neither of us having underwear on but there was no grinding and he had no visual symptoms. He's never had symptoms as we discussed sex (him getting tested first) but we never had it and broke up.

I've since gotten back with my original ex. He swears up and down he's never been with anyone else and I am inclined to believe him. He and I have had sex maybe 10 times or so with a condom (each time lasting 3 mins or less and him with no visual symptoms).

my worry is this bump (or 2) on my labia majora right where the pubic hair line ends (it's in the line). They've been there 3 weeks and have never hurt or itched. It would be non primary. It looked like molluscum in that it was a pink bump with a white center but then it flattened out and was just a red dry looking mark (sometimes it looked wet almost?) then it refilled with pus maybe 1.5 weeks later and then drained and now it looks like two small yellowy scabs. I'm freaking out.

my questions are:

could my very brief contact with the one guy have transmitted herpes? (No sex or oral and no visible symptoms)

what do these look like? Can recurrent OBs last 3 weeks and be without pain and itching and refill with pus? Since it's not in a super hairy area I'm worried it's not folliculitis :/

Hi Cantgetabreak, I'm so sorry you are going through this.  To answer your question.  Yes, you can get HSV 2 with skin to skin contact.  And, if a person with HSV1 has oral sex they can also infect the person' genitals. 90% of the population have HSV1.    A person with HSV 1 and 2 do not need to have an outbreak to be contagious. This is called shedding.  As to symptoms, we are all different.  I never had symptoms.  Go to Urgent care and have them test the spot.  It'll take a day or two for the results.  If you can't afford urgent care.  I suggest your local free health clinic.

Also, your boyfriend should get tested.

I wish you the best.

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
