Admedus Phase II Interim Report is Encouraging

"The average number of days HSV - 2 was detected in patients was reduced  versus baseline"

So, in the metric that is universally considered in HSV therapeutic vaccines to matter: reduction in days of viral shedding.  Admedus's performance is so bad that they won't even put it in the press release.  This is a failed vaccine.

Are you channeling Donald Trump? hehehe

@Gettingthere In the beginning, I was reading everything I could about the virus and research efforts.   The history of herpes vaccines doesn't have that great of a track record.   If these companies have GOOD and CONVINCING information about their tests then they will sure want to mention that.  But there's a lot of information that isn't said.    Anything short of working on the virus at the root is a waste of time and energy.   I anticipate ALL therapeutic vaccines will yield the same results.   If Admedus continues on, they get a greater sample size, then their numbers will look very similar to Genocea's.

There's a fire in your britches, you get a vaccine that just brings more firemen to put it out.   Meanwhile, the same fuel that supplies the viral fire is supplying the firemen.

I'd love for it to just be removed but I'm getting used to just having this, regardless of what happens.   I'm excited about the CRISPR tech but I'd rather save my hopes-and-expectations energy for tai chi and other spiritual endeavors.

This is cool and all but when will the viral shedding percentage results come out?  It's bs that we've waited so long to not get any data on shedding.  Is there any word from Admedus when those results will be available?

We should get them by the end of the year, they said. They said that the results they released were scheduled, but I don't know why they would schedule a "blind" assessment of the trial. Plus, some people dropped out if tye study.

Thanks a lot Smart1. I honestly feel weird about this whole thing. Yes I am happy and it's good it reduces 90% lesions, but am I the only one who feels ripped off? We were all anxiously waiting and they give us brief data with no real answers.  It reminds me of  when you go to best buy and you look for an honest answer but they feed you bullshit.

They didn't give it to us, they gave it to their investors.... But yeah, less than satisfying hey. When do they begin testing it on people without HSV, and how do they test it on those poor people?

I feel the same way. It is BS and IMO unprofessional. If the vaccine flopped, it flopped, move on and inform your investors and potential customers.

I said it before, and I'll say it again: This virus is not like HPV, in the sense that it comes from the nerves. The virus wakes up when I wake up; moves more when I think about it (I can literally activate its movement with thoughts); has its way with my neurological system without any resistance; it causes neurological problems both in short-term and long-term.

THIS IS THE VIRUS OF THE NERVES, where T  and B cells don't operate. I said it before and everyone ridiculed me, but we need someone specializing in the nervous system to reqlly nip this disease in the butt. We need to flush it out of the nervous system, then an effective vaccine might make a real impact.

I know a friend who doesn't get any breakouts. She has constant nerve problems, though. This is not a skin disease or one where the immune system needs to be primed. Our systems do that automatically with the virus in there. The problem is the reservoir in the nerves. Just like me she caught the disease when she wasn't paying attention to her lifestyle. The disease has bipassed her "gaurds" and set up a nice home in her nerves.

I'm trying to be positive, but unless this vaccine can eliminate the sourse of the problem, it can never make a good imapct on this situation. We need someone that has a good knowledge of the immune system to undertake underdstanding neurology to tackle this.

what you mean not paying attention to life style? as in not researching or knowing if someone has hsv? education is the biggest problem with this disease imo but clearly looking on here people from every situation have got it somehow . everywhere in medical it seems to be ignored and never tested for. I guess that crispr is the only way to dig into the nerves and flush it ?

When I got the virus,  I was partying a lot, consuming lots of drugs, not sleeping, caffeine and putting my body through a lot of physical activity. And right after it entered my body, because of my obligations at the time, my stress levels were really high. Plus, I didn't even know what herpes was.

By flushing I mean clearing it—even if once— from the nervous system. It won't be able to make reentry.

The problems is not our bodies clearing the virus, that is why we get breakouts. The problems is where it comes from.

Be Patient!

To date, the Company and investigators remain blinded to study data in accordance with standard clinical study procedures to protect the integrity of the results. The first of a series of data from the study is expected to be available in the coming weeks, with further data to be released during 2016.

We look forward to the next scheduled analysis, which will be more extensive and will be performed on the ublinded data, giving us further insight into the data set. We anticipate this will be completed in the Q3 2016,” said Admedus CEO Mr Lee Rodne.

At this point the data remains blinded and therefore no definitive conclusions can be made. The Company plans an analysis of the unblinded data from these 20 study participants to be performed during Q3 2016. This will include assessment of the immunological endpoints including T cell response, as well as clinical and virological data.

I'm not sure what all tge negativity is about on here. They clearly don't have all the data. We are herpes sufferers folks, not doctors. So far the news is great!

Small cap biotech Admedus in focus after HSV-2 Phase 2 clinical trial results.

Shares surged as much as 33% to $0.57 before fading to $0.50.

Interim results of the trial showed no safety issues, the average outbreak of the virus had a marked decrease of over 90% in the monthly rate versus baseline, and the average number of days HSV-2 was detected in patients was reduced versus baseline.

“Although these are interim results they are encouraging,” Morgans analyst Scott Power says. “This should help restore confidence to the share price which has been weak.”

It’s potentially a big market for Admedus, with an estimated 417 million people infected by genital herpes globally, according the World Health Organisation.

Mr Power notes that the data remains blinded and therefore no definitive conclusions can be made.

AHZ plans analysis of the unblinded data from these 20 study participants during 3Q16.

Hey @Zrozpaczona9 that looks like folliculitis to me, that’s independent of the question of herpes. The doctor is wrong in the sense that a negative IgG test is beyond reasonable doubt that you do not have herpes. It is a small percentage of people for which a false negative occurs. The doctor is right to take a swab to increase your confidence that there’s no herpes present. I’m sure you’ll have your result soon.

In this forum we will discuss does lume work Lume is paraben-free and uses several natural ingredients like Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, tapioca starch, and Maranta arundinacea root powder (also known as arrowroot powder) to control odor and sweat. One of the key Lume deodorant ingredients is mandelic acid, an AHA found in skin care products, which also has an antibacterial effect.

Ibuprofen medicine is a painkiller. Can you take ibuprofen on an empty stomach  Some people take medicine empty stomach which is not good for our health. Because painkiller kind of medicine is very strong and can harm your liver. Medicine makes many strong ingredients. like Lactose, corn starch, hypromellose, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), and carnauba wax.
