My doctor thinks i have herpes, but i haven't gotten my blood tests back yet. since its the weekend i wont know till monday...its killing me!! :/

i was wondering can you have herpes without any bumps or blisters?? cause i only have sores, i never got any bumps or blisters, itching or tingling....

I'm pretty sure i have it since I don't think my doctor would freak me out like that unless she was sure ( giving me papers and DVD on it) and i know she has seen it a lot, i have also been having headaches and lower back pain which i know is associated with it....

I don't want to be in denial, but i dont want to freak out if i dont!! :(

Time for school

Maybe you should just take the weekend to learn as much as you can about it.

I feel your pain -- I had to wait a week for my results, and then the lab messed them up. But that week gave me a chance to educate myself, and I learned SO much and made myself way more comfortable with the possible diagnosis. The doc's office initially told me that the swab test came back negative, so I spent half the day believing I didn't have it. But my reaction wasn't "Thank God." Instead, I was thinking about how much more sanely I would react if someone else were to tell me he had it, now that I knew so much more. Then, when the doc called me with the positive blood test, I spent two minutes wanting to cry and a day in a bad mood. Now I'm preoccupied with it -- mostly rehearsing "the talk" for when I need to tell someone -- but I'm not that upset. The worst part was waiting on pins and needles for the results. That was even worse than the symptoms themselves, or telling the guy who gave it to me.

waiting scks

I know! Try and keep busy. Take a walk outside, go see some live music w/friends or go to a movie. Call your Grandma or someone you love just to tell them your thinking about them (no need to mention herpes concerns to the older generation, they most likely don't understand anything but sterotypes and you don't want to upset them). Clean your shower, or vacum/clean under your bed. By getting out of your head keeping busy, you will feel productive, and good about yourself for doing nice things for others. Usually the weekends go so quick, its amazing how waiting for herpes test results halt time.

Have you seen the new Bourne movie by the way? No way you can thing about yourself while watching that hotpants in his non-stop action ...sorry I digress, but i really like those bourne movies.

Peace and love new friend!!

Best of luck to you!!

Talk soon! God bless you!

I'll know tomorrow...

Thank you for the support!!!

I got a call from the ER where I had first gone saying that my blood tests were normal :) , but I'm not sure if they had checked for herpes! Because the ER doctor said it didn't look like herpes to him (he wasn't a gynecologist) but I wouldn't he test for it anyway just in case?....When I went to my gynecologist she took one look and was like "yep, you've got herpes"....so i'm still just confused, one more day....

Also has anyone had an OB (esp. a first) that didn't involve bumps, blisters, itching or tingling?? cause it seems like those symptoms are everywhere and I didn't have them....just wondering

the outbreak i had that made me go to the doctor was notice-sum (not a real word) but i felt it so i took a mirror to it and it was just like a swollen area. The look of it and feel of it (not by touch but just by the uncomfortable feeling) was enough to get me to go to the doctor the next day. The next couple days after it became very painful, to sit at work all day etc. but I didn't have blisters or whatever that i noticed.

Call the ER and ask them if they specifically tested for herpes...

To give some context I hve been suffering with this for the last 6/7 years this came about after I had varicella zoster on the inside of my body a week after I started getting clusters of spots on the top of my buttock they are not painful as such can be itchy at times but majority of the time I don’t feel it when I have an outbreak. I’ve been to various doctors who say it’s a fungal skin infection or a bacterial skin infection. I’ve asked if it’s herpes but they will say it’s not without even testing it.

Hello there @momma267 and welcome. There is no reason to believe that what you have there is other than a pressure sore, something that has emerged from rubbing with clothing or butt cheeks and exacerbated by bacteria or yeast.  Note that the first you’d learn of herpes is unlikely to be on your butt, instead where it enters your body, this is usually within the vaginal lips for females.

So to begin with, I am 26 and have been with the same partner for 8 years. I have only been with three people ever, one completely protected and the other we were both our firsts. I got this rash on my but while pregnant and my doctor said she was testing for it and I'm so confused. I've had two babies, breastfeed, and never had anything as much as a cold sore. Does this look like something anyone has experienced? I used fragrant soap down there and am hoping it's contact dermatitis or a heat rash from sweating and gaining so much weight.  Advice would be helpful. I'm stressing out a bit as I am pregnant. Hi, it is me again, apologies for the recent influx of posts. I've noticed a slightly raised area on the middle of my top lip with what i feel are some bumps. i do have a habit of biting my lips a fair bit and this area is frequented by my teeth. I haven't noticed any unusual/abnormal tingling or burning or pain sensations. the photos are a bit difficult to focus on them but do these seem like the start of cold sores? note: I will be visiting the drs for an std checkup in the coming week. https://imgur.com/gallery/YLVA5us
