Hi everyone. I read a lot about shedding and that when the scabs fall off it is safe to assume you are not shedding and therefore that is an OK time to have sex. I never get scabs... I get a bit of tingling every now and then, and ONE spot that looks like a pimple but it goes away after 2-3 days. I am on suppressive therapy (have been for two years) - could that be the reason for my outbreaks being so minimal? So how am I to know when my shedding is over if I don't get scabs? Is there a way to know? The tingling occurs often but with no consistency as to when. Thoughts?

Shedding is release of the virus without ANY symptoms...

So bumps or scabs are not shedding they are outbreaks...

You can never know 100% when you are or are not shedding.

      Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

      Been a few weeks it went away but reappeared again tiny red marks not raised spots or anything no pain or itching ,I have had all negative tests on Sti's ..

      Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
