online herpe dating good for anybody?

Well i am pretty sure i have hsv 2. was diagnosed as having a herpetic infection that the doc cannot tell which one it is yet.

but i was with a girl who had hsv 2 for 5 months(broke up w/ her and took the test a month later to see if i had it)

well now i have a herpetic infection and im guessing thats its hsv 2 from her ( have to go back in a month to confirm).

I have made out with a couple other ppl in that month period but I think the chances are low that i caught oral hsv from them =/

Now im with this incredibly awesome girl for the past 2 months who undoubtedly is going to break up with me(told her today) and I cant blame her... I feel like i regret getting into that discordant relationship now.. but i know i shouldnt regret like that. i did what i did.. =/

Well i have already gotten onto herpes dating sites to see my options but they seem sorta odd. has anybody had success with meeting men/woman on these? Im just afraid im not going to find anybody ... at least nobody as awesome as this girl im with =(

I feel your pain about the dating sites....everyone who writes me on there is either way too old for me, or don't post photos. Hate to sound shallow, but if you don't post photos, I am going to think you're ashamed of how you look, therefore I don't respond.

Online dating is tricky...

I havent had alot of luck with online dating in general...Just remember that pics can be very deceiving. I have met a few gals from various online sites and some end up to look nothing like their pics and some do. Be carefull and don't build this picture of this perfect 10 because when you meet it might be more like a 5 or so. On the other hand the online thing is very usefull as a tool to get to know something about e/o before you meet...just remember...online dating is tricky.

I'd look into local herpes singles groups and support groups and stuff before online dating. It may work, but from my experiences it wasn't so hot. The inaccurate pictures and info. the women I met provided was only the start of the freakshow that most turned out to be.

Thanks for scaring me; I have a date with a girl I met on a site and I saw a picture, she looks cute enough. It's this weekend; I let you know how it goes and how she seems...

Don't be scared LOL. It's most likely she's a decent person. But yeah I'd like to hear how that goes.

I once met a really sweet, nice guy from a friend's list on Facebook. We started talking, then met, then dated for a few months. He wasn't weird at all. The only downside is that he is the one who gave me HSV-1 and now won't talk to me.

I guess that's not an encouraging story. ;)

One other thing NC; just because someone doesn't post a picture doesn't mean they wouldn't be good looking. Most women would say that I'm an attractive guy, and I would NEVER post my picture on an open forum. I don't need the world to know that I have HSV. It could effect my job, family life, and friendships, but if someone I met asked me for it I would be happy to send it. Just a thought that everyone may not be as open about it as you.

I respect that. In online dating in general, not just HSV sites, I just find it's annoying when people don't post a photo. It can sometimes mean they're insecure about it. Sometimes it means they don't have a digital photo. Or it means exactly what you said.

I've only done the online dating thing a bit, but the one guy i talked to who didn't have a picture was... well, let's be nice and just say he was NOT my type. So then i started thinking like NC....

pics...

I agree with not posting pics...I have a dig. camera, and I'm a good looking guy who is in top physical condition, but I won't post any photos on a herpes/std dating site for the real fact that I don't want the world to know... I know that it severly limits my responses and that I'm unlikely to meet anyone at all online. I have gone on a few "online" dates (5)...only 2 turned out to be totally differant from their pics. They were all very nice and quite normal but there is just a complete uncomfortableness about sitting down for dinner with someone that you really know very little about. I will have to say that on the flipside it is just good to be out trying to get on with the rest of my life. To be in the company of a waman who wants to be there with you. It has actually done me more good than harm. I really don't expect to meet a gun weilding psycho from the underworld!!! I think were all behind you and your date this weekend! Best of luck to you! were all waiting to hear how things went for you.

I signed up for one, didn't pay for it though. I didn't post my picture. I'm not insecure nor do I think I am unattractive. I don't have a problem dating with out the sites, but I won't be intimate with anyone and that usually gets me dumped. Also there is no one in my area. I agree with okokok though, I have a job that it others found out could really affect my job. Just be careful...

I wouldn't want to meet someone without seeing their picture either. You need to have physical attraction to someone for the whole dating thing to work. Looking at the pictures of some of the guys on the sites (yes, I do look at the competition ;)..) many of them wouldn't be my type if I was a woman either.

The next time you talk to someone or e-mail them from one of the sites just ask them for a picture. They may be more willing to send you a picture if it is just to you, and if it is after you have sent a few e-mails back and forth. That's what most of the women I have spoken to requested... anyhow I'll reserve my personal feedback until Friday ;)

Mixed Results

Well the young lady I met was very nice. She had an upbeat personality and the things we didn't have in common sort of complemented eachother well. We went to the bar for a drink due to a long wait line at the restaurant which is "just what the doctor ordered" before my first online date.

The meal was very nice; the coversation was fun, and we even went out for a walk after the meal and just talked about things other than H; like most people do ;) .

Her picture "shed her in a positive light" . Not that she wasn't at all physically attractive, but her personality made her more attractive than her physical attributes alone.

She was so cute; I realized I hadn't sent her my picture and that's why she was so nervous to meet me. When I asked her why she didn't just ask me for it she said because she didn't want to push the issue and appear shallow.

Most importantly I had a fun time, and I would be suprised if she didn't feel the same way!

Fun Time

Well I had a great time on Friday night. It was nice to just get out again and not have to feel like I had this big secrete hanging over my head. She was nice, and was similar to the picture I had sent. I think I would recommend it to anyone based on my only experience.

Thanks for all the support!

Recall on my last post here!

OK, I got brave and put my pic on mpwh.com...but its only available for paying "upgraded" members. That should be a nice comprimise of safety and yet get responses! Wow am I getting responses too! I'm hoping for the best and hope to at minimum to make a few friends. I still have the option to send pics to non paying members if they ask me. My main goal is to keep "snoopers" out..If they want to pay just to see my pic....let em' pay! I think I look pretty frickin good!

If there were thousands of people on the online herpes dating sites I might be willing to attempt a paid membership, but as it is, there's a very limited selection.

I'd much rather try to meet people through a support group or something, but THEY DON'T HAVE ANY

Yes it does, but these sites only work if both people communicate. I'm on two now but will not renew as I'm no longer actively looking.

https://imgur.com/a/cVi8yJY 2 weeks ago I had unprotected oral sex. Few days later I wake up with a stinging sensation in my urethra. I don't have any blisters, lesions or redness, my penis looks completely normal from the outside, but the stinging in my urethra is always there. Urinating doesn't make the pain worse. From the research I've done and how my body feels I'm pretty sure I caught genital hsv1. To make matters worse I think I transmitted it to my eyelid by touching my infected penis and then my eyelid which did develop a blister. Can anyone look at my lower eyelid and tell me if it looks anything like herpes?  I forgot to add that the blister is painless, but my eye is a bit watery. Other than that it's fine and my eyesight is good. Considering how this all developed in a matter of a week after I had unprotected sex it can't be much else than herpes..

Hey I see that they also sell the pill form in 100 mg and 500 mg form. Do you think this is as affective? They have the regular and extract version of the pill. Which would you think is the right one to get? And how many pills per day to get the same effect of say 16 seeds?

I had an IGG test  and the ranges were out of range and high  HSV 1 was 42 and HSV 2 was 19 so I guess it was accurate but the problem now is I can't figure out when or who I got it from. In 2018 to 2019 when I was with my ex I was STD tested but not sure if herpes was included but my ex was supposed to get tested but refused. I experienced some trauma with him and didn't date until a year and a half later so I'm confused. The guy I dated after the ex who didn't want to be tested I told them a week ago about my results he was trying to be there for me and understanding,I told him to get tested but to request a herpes blood test , because he had no noticeable lesions or bumps ever is what he said and I never noticed any on him now he has shut down all his social media and I can't reach him. Hoping he's okay, I feel bad because in 2018 I did have what I was told it was an abrasion that tingled but at my doctor the day I was tested they told me it wasn't herpes but I think it was only a visible diagnosis. I keep having it reoccur from time to time

Hello "FeelingLost".... your fears and concerns are understandable but, nothing you've described regarding the sexual encounter would cause you to contract herpes.... further, your symptoms are not herpes related.  Best of all, your doctor is correct, your results don't show any herpes here.  You can relax.... definitely have your GP take a look at things and see what might be causing the symptoms but, again, none of them are typical herpes related.  I wish you the best in terms of talking to your wife about this encounter.... hopefully she will understand and you both can work through this amicably.  We all make mistakes.... be careful not to beat yourself up too hard over this.... you can become so racked with guilt that you start imagining physical symptoms.  Best of luck.... and take care..... come back to the site if you have questions.
