What can and cannot I do with HSV1 genital herpes?

Hi all, I'm new to this site and herpes itself actually, having only contracted it August this year. Although I do not want to dwell too much on 'how' I got it, as my sister wisely said to me 'it's like rolling a dice to see who to blame'. The most likely way I contracted it was through receiving oral sex from a guy who has HSV1 orally and did not know he could transmit it this way, as he had no symptoms at the time. I am not angry at him at all, he is still a good friend and I trust him, I am also not depressed or worried about disclosing to future partners, however what I am worried and very confused about, is the in's and out's of how I can transmit this virus.

From what I have read it is very confusing and in order to disclose well I want to have a crystal clear knowledge of the facts. Here are some specific questions I have:

- If I have no symptoms how likely is it to pass it on through receiving oral sex?

- If I have no symptoms how likely is it to pass it on to peoples fingers (having read about Whitlows)

- What is the risk of transmitting HSV1 through sex with no symptoms and the use of a condom?

Thank you all very much for your time and knowledge! <3
