I can dream...can't I?!

Hello all!

I've been on this journey since July 2016. There was a time when  I would visit this site multiple times a day....mostly while I was in tears. I've met some wonderful people here...you know who you are.  If it wasn't for this virus, we probably would've never crossed paths. I've tried to keep up with all of the research for vaccines and cures regarding HSV. I must say that the threads in the research area...well, I will keep that thought to myself. On to my dream....

1) I dream of one day getting the call scheduling my appointment to have this virus eradicated from my body for good. 

2) I dream of a day I don't worry about transmission

3) I dream of a day that I don't have to use the words disclosure, positive results, antibodies, IgG, IgM, Western Blot, "The Talk", Valtrex, outbreak, and discordant 

4) I dream of a day there is a prophylactic vaccine available to everyone 

5) I dream of a day when the medical community wakes up....if it is not HSV it will be something else that everyone is clueless about.

6) I dream of a day when the medical community tells you about the options you have regarding your health

7) I dream of a day when all people ask more questions and demand more from the medical community

8) I dream of a day when I can eat a brownie again without worry

9) I dream of a day when I can look at coconut oil the way I used to...lol

10) Although the site is great...I dream of a day when someone knocks the Hive down because it is no longer needed. Just give us a chance to say our goodbyes...ok

11) I dream of a day when children and babies are no longer at risk for HSV.  (This is sensitive for me...as a teacher I would see this and to think these children have to cope with this virus, some from infancy) 

12) I dream of a day when regardless of color, religion, fear, shame, and doubt all those with HSV (or should I say those who had HSV) stand together and make some noise about how we were left in the shadows. 

 

Please don't bite my head off for how I feel or for my next statement. I am a Christian and yes, I feel that I have this virus due to my disobedience.  Notice the letter in bold. I am praying for a cure even though I don't desire it...heck I don't deserve a lot of things....hence the word "blessing". I am not only praying for me, but the entire community to be freed of this virus. "Remember that God’s healing may include medicine and professional medical help." I found that tidbit on a Christian website. 

 I will now step down from my religious soapbox.

Just reading this and it brought me.to tears. I feel the same way. All.I want is a normal life again. Just to not think about what I eat, to not fret at the words you said like valtrex, outbreak, antibodies...omg.

All I want is my piece of mind,confidence and health back. I'd give anything- almost my life.

I too pray each and everyday for myself and everyone else on this site. GOD hears us and by his stripes we are healed. ...

You can do it if you put your mind to it and just ignore the fact that you're taking medication because you have herpes think of it as vitamin pill instead that you would take to make you healthy.

I have been taking antidepressants daily if the last 20 years I don't think that I have to take this because Im not normal.  I take it because I know that it helps me and that's what your valtrex is doing it is helping you.  

 

If you don't give yourself a break from thinking about it all the time then you are never going to get your normal life back.
