Bring HSV treatment to United States

Hello everyone, Dr. Halford has brought to our attention a very promising vaccine by Rational Vaccines, i am sure you have heard of it by now. He has urged us all to write a letter to our local congressmen in order to get this treatment brought into the U.S. Seeing as how most of us don't know who our congressmen are or have the time to sit down and write a letter i have created this online petition that will hopefully attract the attention of the right people to implement it. Please take five minutes to sign and share it. Maybe together we can achieve this. thank you.

 I'm sorry but petitioning rational vaccines is not going to help. The FDA is the one who needs to be petitioned.

Switch the recipient of the petition to the FDA or congress.

 I admire @passionatepisces  Enthusiasm but  under the current wording, sending  it to rational vaccines under the impression that Dr. Bill needs to change something is incorrect. Because he cannot change anything the very reason for him going overseas is clear. Too much FDA pushback.  This is why the trials are being done overseas,that doesn't necessarily mean that the vaccine won't be available to people who wish to get it.  This is currently being worked on. So petitioning Dr. Bill is not conducive to this cause.  Congress and the FDA needs to be petitioned.  So please do not misunderstand what I'm saying, I admire the petition  and like the idea.  I think you just need to add some info @RVX Patient and Investor

What also needs to be understood is  that having the trials overseas is not going to hurt selling the vaccine or making it available, it's actually going to happen much quicker. Please understand that if  rational vaccines were to do the trial in the United States it would put the vaccine 10 years away.  The way that it is currently being run will make the vaccine available possibly within two years

 To be honest it's a great idea but I honestly don't know if Dr. Bill wants to go that route.  I'm pretty sure they already have a business plan in place.

I have not considered a ‘call to action” letter, but I think this would be more powerful coming from those involved in Honeycomb and other support groups. Such letters are far more compelling coming from (1) past participants of the first Theravax trial and (2) other sufferers who want to participate in a similar trial. Sounds like a great idea, and I am happy to offer a paragraph in support, but those suffering with the disease are those who have the power to humanize this condition. Most people not in the know assume that the desire to better treat herpes is anchored in a desire to have sex more freely. What they don’t know is that having GH symptoms daily robs people of hope. Most GH sufferers just want the possibility of waking up one day and forgetting they have GH for a day, a week, or God forbid even 3 or 4 months. If government officials understood how hopeless how many GH sufferers felt, YES, that would be the single most powerful bullet in your arsenal to get more governments to not only approve live HSV-2 vaccine trials, but to actively support them as well. This is a WIN-WIN-WIN-WIN for patients, doctors, governments, and insurance providers (who would love a 3-shot preventative vaccine over a lifetime of antiviral drugs….helps their bottom line).

GH sufferers have a lot more power than they realize. A call to action letter would be a great start.

 A cover letter to Congress explaining the situation would clear some things up as well.  I also would have suggested contacting rational vaccines before posting

So glad my petition is getting around. my petition had a few mistakes that after speaking with the participants of the phase 1 clinical trials i was able to clear up. we also decided to start another petition at petition2congress in hopes we can bring even more awareness. thank you so much for the support!
