what is the longest someone can go without breaking out?

Hello,

I have a few questions......first off I haven't been sexually active in over 14 months....however, last week I noticed a pimple on the shaft of my penis. It looks just like a zit but it is not sensitive like one....does'nt hurt at all. Thinking that it might be an ingrown hair....I tried to pop it. No fluid came out and I experience no pain in doing so....I have been as healthy as a horse. I have not gotten sick once in the last year and a half except for just recently. had flu like symptoms for about three days...that was about three weeks ago.

since i have tried to pop the pimple I have had smaller ones form....not in a cluster as suggested by other literature I have read about HSV2. I have had no pain in urinating ever.

To describe the pimples...they are small and white headed. there is no red rash around it...just simply a white headed pimple...so my question is posted here to the people that have had experiences when contracting HSV2....

so here goes.....

What is the longest that someone can go before actually breaking out in this virus.....I mean it has been over a year since I have had any contact sexually with anybody....could I have the virus?

Also,

I have been looking at pictures on the internet so that i may identify the need to go into the doctor.....

I was wondering...are most of these pictures that you find on medical sites slightly exaggerated...I mean...are we seeing pictures of the worst case to intimidate the uninfected population....or are we seeing actual real examples of what someone can expect if they think they have HSV2.

Has anybody heard of someone getting HSV2 wih just a few pimples scattered with no pattern? With no lessions?

Please any information you could provide would be appreciated.

Tim

Pictures on medical sites are usually the worst case scenarios..

From everything you describe, I don't think you should be worried about HSV.

The hair follicles on a guys skin around the penis and scrotum act weird. They can get clogged, or irritated...

I get the same thing from time to time... And having HSV I can tell you that pimples and HSV don't feel anything alike...

No worries man, your fine.

the pimples are on the shaft of my penis where there are no visible hairs growing...........you still think that I could be ok?

You said the pimple has a white head, but you can't pop it?

When I get an oubreak, the blisters do not pop, but if I tried to, I could break them open and release a little clear fluid.

But not white, like puss from a pimple.. clear...

Anyway...

Are your lymph nodes in your groin sore, or swollen?

If I have an outbreak my lymph nodes in my groin are always swollen..

Sometimes when I have an o/b I notice the swollen lymph nodes before I notice the outbreak.

I still think you have nothing to worry about...

I really appreciate all of your advice.....

I didn't see anything come out of the pimple.....I don't notice any pain...nothing that I can tell is swollen.....it doesn't hurt to the touch...also...I had this come up right before christmas......but I still have it now....so how long does an outbreak last when you get them?

Again, your counsel is very much appreciated.

My first outbreak lasted a couple of weeks maybe...

Now they last 3 to 4 days, with maybe a couple more days for the tiny scabs to completely flake off...

Hi @WhatDidIDo2023, hopefully all is well with you and your significant other and are still together.   Did she develop any other symptoms after you mentioned her getting itchiness? Was it determined what you had was contagious? Most likely developed a fungal disease and caused her a yeast or uti

Hi @Luna 01 I really feel it is worthwhile obtaining a proper Herpeselect test given the outcomes of the home panel test. Regardless, your current symptoms are almost certainly not related to herpes. Hopefully, your doctor can assist in resolving these.
