Itchy/ Sensitive Anus

Hello every one today is day 20 after exposure in theory. Thats If I'm positive for HSV.

ive had an itchy anus for about 2 weeks now, it got better and now worse. Now it isn't so much itchy but sensitive almost irritated. I have no pain just sensitivity.

Im starting to think it's an breakout. I can't see down there and of course my doctor didn't care to look. I don't know what to do.

For everyone that has experienced outbreaks in the anus area....

what does it feel like ?

Pain ?

At what point did you realize it was more than a rash or just itchyness?

I don't know what to do and need help. Should I visit the ER?

I believe i have an anal fissure from hsv1, but still not sure if thats that cause. However if you don't have any sores or pimples idk what to say maybe change diet, soap, dont stress over it. Get a hand mirror so you can see

Itchy/ irritated anus is a fairly common symptom associated with genital hsv (1 or 2).
It doesn't necessarily lead to outbreaks, but does for some.

I fully agree with you adi this is a symptom it may lead to ob's or not but if there's a lot of itching along with redness in the anus then it's most likely ob. I wish one day we will be cured from this shit

This is the only direct symptom I've had, no Pain, headache, fever, fatigue, flu. This and diarreah. I hope it's nothing more than a rash or yeast infection

I disagree.  If I eat a lot of acidic foods, sweat outside a lot or many other things, this can happen.  Of course it could be hsv.  I have OHSV1.  None genitally but can have tons of itching at times due to many factors.  Now maybe those same factors(if I had it genitally) could trigger an ob....

I took a look today, it looks red and irritatted. Saw about three small pimple looking bumps almost like irritated hair follicules right above my anus. Should I visit the ER, this could be my only option to get swabed ?

Go to urgent care if you are freaked about it.  Get it swabbed.  My guess is that it isnt hsv1...

Guessing bacterial or yeast.

The pudendal nerve innervates with the penis/vagina/scrotum/genitalia, the perineum/crotch, encircles the anus and leads up to the Sacral Nerve Plexus (SNP).   This the route HSV takes to establish latency at the SNP and emits from.   So an itchy butt and general genitalia isn't uncommon with g-HSV.

You could try a little coconut oil applied to the itchy area. Sometimes I use an antihistamine gel like Benadryl if I get itchy down there. It won't help with the virus but for me, I think it helps with the inflammation which is exacerbating the itching. Neosporin makes an antibiotic cream with pain relief that also won't do anything for the virus but will maybe numb the itching a little.

Of you're interested in herbal supplements, lemon balm might help some. Also peppermint and St John's wort which will help calm your nervous system and that might help some with how the virus is intetacting with your nerves.

Hope you feel better soon.

Lemon balm... like that found in the formula herp-b-gone (worse name ever for something u have to buy online I know, "let's be super obvious") is the only thing working for me to sooth my anal irritation.

Good morning. My name is Marlena and I come from Poland. Sorry, my English is average. For two years I have been in a relationship with a man, for a year and a half I have been struggling with intimate problems. On average, my intimate condition is getting worse every month. Then I feel itching, redness, swelling around the entrance to the vagina, small blisters (not always). Most often it is only red and swollen, itches and then disappears. This state lasts 3-4 days. I come from a small town, doctors don't know what it is. They say it's 'skin irritation'. They prescribe moisturizing creams with lactic acid, probiotics. It doesn't help. I did a blood test for HSV on my own, which is very expensive in Poland, but it does not separate HSV1 from HSV2. The doctor, when he shows these results, says that it's not herpes, but irritation. I would like to add that in the past I suffered from herpes on the lips, then it was a 'scab'. There has never been a scab in an intimate area. Sometimes there are blisters that last 1-2 days, but not always. So what do high blood test results mean? I would like to add that in Poland people do not talk about the HSV virus. It's just that sometimes someone has it on their lips and that's it. Results translation: IgM HSV 1/2: questionable IgG HSV 1/2: result above the measuring range https://files.fm/f/4cpu7uee4

This is my first time posting here. Im generally pretty anxious when it comes to anything to do with health conditions etc. For context I have had jock itch and fungal infections previously on my buttcrack. I have had 0 new sexual partners and I am not concerned about my girlfriend cheating at all. 4 days ago my balls began itching and red pretty much all over, as you can see some general flakeyness and what looks to be a lesion I noticed on Monday when I checked them out. My partner and I do get cold sores from time to time so the anxious part of me is concerned this could be herpes, but at the same time could be some sort of fungal infection. My doctor cant see me until tomorrow so I just have to worry until then. There is no pain and nothing on the penis or anywhere else, just general itchiness. Any ideas if this is herpes or not?

Yes, but every married person who I found out about that has this waited 6-8 months into the relationship to disclose it. But maybe you're right. If I had told her 6-7 months in, she'd still have Googled it and flipped out, and maybe it would have been harder then. I don't know. I don't see myself going through this level of pain and rejection so easily next time. I really don't. I'm taking the meds. I use protection. It's been almost a decade since I've had it so I'm not worried about shedding or passing it on so easily. British studies confirm that the first 2 years are the most contagious and we're passed that. I'm just over this. I've never been in so much emotional pain in my life.
